What do we think about this? It does all seem remarkably interesting timing....

Handy, that's what I thought, bloody handy.

DirtyBlonde · 15/11/2020 21:06

Anyone else in No 10 also isolating?

It's an important point - even if you have had a confirmed case, you still have to SI if notified.

At least it's easy for him to WFH!

Unescorted · 15/11/2020 21:07

Quite... who has pulled the strings / plug?

BananaPop2020 · 15/11/2020 21:07

And it sets the stage for him to bow out gracefully without having to resign...

Bow out gracefully without resigning???

Do you think his going to die?

BananaPop2020 · 15/11/2020 21:10

No, I meant from his current role.

helloxhristmas · 15/11/2020 21:10

Very handy.

brusselsprout5 · 15/11/2020 21:10

Convenient 🤔

TicTacTwo · 15/11/2020 21:10

Avoiding Brexit negotiations or 2nd December negotiations?

nosswith · 15/11/2020 21:11

The PM was contacted by Test and Trace. Probably the one occasion it has been timely, probably as it would be very embarrassing if Dido Harding did not ensure it happened.

The MPs wife is in the shielding group, hope she is all OK.

AnneLovesGilbert · 15/11/2020 21:11

Yep. Handy was my first thought.

nosswith · 15/11/2020 21:12

It is convenient that the 14 days ends just before the decision to extend the restrictions, revert to pre 5 November tiers or something different.

Pipandmum · 15/11/2020 21:13

Oh for goodness sake! He's self isolating, not stopping working. I'm sure he can do his job.

RoseAndRose · 15/11/2020 21:15

Poor thing. Have they made public why?

WrongKindOfFace · 15/11/2020 21:16

@Pipandmum

Oh for goodness sake! He's self isolating, not stopping working. I'm sure he can do his job.
I rather think he’s shown he can’t do his job, even when not self-isolating.
doubleshotespresso · 15/11/2020 21:17

Will we seriously notice? Boris has been pretty much absent for this entire thing anyway

StillWeRise · 15/11/2020 21:18

very true

Lemonylemony · 15/11/2020 21:18

Why would he resign because of having to self isolate, I don’t get it?

I’m just wondering how he is a close contact of anyone apart from Carrie. Hands face space Boris!!! He must have broken distancing guidelines, I genuinely cannot imagine why he would have needed to do that.

nosswith · 15/11/2020 21:19

@RoseAndRose not that I know of and don't think it's our business really.

chomalungma · 15/11/2020 21:19

Do you think he got a phone call from a teenager in a call centre telling him to self isolate Grin

Or did his app go off?

Swishswish26 · 15/11/2020 21:21

It’s fairly irresponsible of him to put himself in a position where he was a ‘close contact’ of anyone. He should be social distancing like everyone else.

YesIDoLoveCrisps · 15/11/2020 21:23

I wonder if he will claim the £500 Grin

RoseAndRose · 15/11/2020 21:24

"It does all seem remarkably interesting timing...."

Pretty shit timing, really, as they needed to show themselves full steam ahead with the new team

BananaPop2020 · 15/11/2020 21:24

@Lemonylemony I don’t think it would be due to SI specifically, more that this offers a future opp for him to go under the guise of health concerns. There have been various media mentions this weekend of a lot of senior bods feeling that his personal life is now intruding too far into his role as PM.

Agree - that's why I asked about what she had made public (not what has been rumoured)
