The American badgers (Taxideinae) may intervene but would expect substancial bribery and corrupt future favours. The Honey and European Badgers (Mellivorinae and Melinae) are vicious, dangerous foes if angered and should be kept in the dark. The Ferret badgers (Helictidinae) would be more likely to provide aid and produce somewhat acceptible results. The Christmas Goblins may be a better option - they'd remove the child and bring it up as their own.
