How many types of pasta do you usually have in the cupboard

Dh doing the weekly shop - asked him to grab some conchiglie as had run out. His response - but we already have penne and spaghetti.

Now if he’d looked a bit closer he’d also know that we have a few others too, but I can’t rest easy unless I have at least shells, something tube like and spaghetti at least in the house. Am I a weirdo? What pasta do you keep “in stock”?

We love pasta. In the pantry are spaghetti, tagliatelle, penne, conchiglie, orzo, fusilli, rigatoni and lasagne sheets.

Oh I forgot one! We definitely have tagliatelle as well. I’ll check later and see if there’s anything else I’ve missed.

2 different types. I can’t think of any other food product that has so many different names based solely on shape.

In southern France you tend to see it served as a potato or rice substitute.

Spaghetti , penne , orzo , macaroni at the moment .

Spaghetti, penne, fusilli, orzo, lasagne, squid ink spaghetti which I really should throw away as it's almost s decade out of date, but that would be admitting defeat and a rare food waste fail and, which I think is a new one for this thread margheritini, which are some tiny little shells labelled soup pasta from Sainsbury's.

We usually have macaroni, linguine and rigatoni too but not now apparently.

BarbaraofSeville · 14/11/2020 12:09

We also have several different types of rice too. Perhaps I should start a new thread.

xanthippe8 Thanks to this thread, I've just ordered some Dischi Volanti. Who could resist a pasta created to commemorate UFOs (flying saucers) being sighted above Florence football stadium?

Usually spaghetti, penne, fusilli and lasagne (all wholewheat) and we also buy Little Pasta Organics pasta shapes for toddler DS. Not sure why actually as he usually ignores them and steals off our plates instead Grin
