How many types of pasta do you usually have in the cupboard

Dh doing the weekly shop - asked him to grab some conchiglie as had run out. His response - but we already have penne and spaghetti.

Now if he’d looked a bit closer he’d also know that we have a few others too, but I can’t rest easy unless I have at least shells, something tube like and spaghetti at least in the house. Am I a weirdo? What pasta do you keep “in stock”?

Loads. We have linguine, spaghetti, pasta shells and tubes and probably 2 or 3 other types. DS eats pasta 4-5 times a week and it MUST be a mix of shapes!

amillionnamechangeslater000 · 13/11/2020 17:55

For those asking noodles and clue CPU’s definitely do NOT count! 😊

What about gnocchi? In or out?

DuzzyFuck · 13/11/2020 18:00

Wow, didn't realise I go so far against the grain!

We usually have spaghetti, possibly lasagne sheets and then one or two bags of shapes, don't care what shapes, barely even look, we'd put any old shape with any dish unless we were making something naice for a dinner party or whatever Blush

TheStripes · 13/11/2020 18:00

We have:
Fusilli
Penne
Spaghetti
Linguine (dried and fresh)
Macaroni
And the all important Paw Patrol

omg35 · 13/11/2020 18:01

I always have lasagne and spaghetti then one other shape. Conchiglie is my favourite but I wouldn't have sent him out if I had penne in sorry

amillionnamechangeslater000 · 13/11/2020 18:02

@TheYearOfSmallThings am on the fence about gnocchi... is it pasta - is it potato?

Therealjudgejudy · 13/11/2020 18:02

Conchigile, fussili, penne and spaghetti right now.

Will be buying some more different types tomorrow Smile

Mummyoply · 13/11/2020 18:03

Spaghetti
Lasagne sheets
Bows
Fusilli
Dinosaur
Beetroot penne
Pea penne
Chickpea penne
Macaroni

No idea I had this much variety - but I definitely need it!

Bwlch · 13/11/2020 18:04

Spaghetti... even then, I expect it's past its fossilisation date.

I didn't realise pasta was such a "thing" until lockdown hit.

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 13/11/2020 18:04

5 or 6 probably - it depends on how recently we’ve had a grocery delivery.

Totally agree. Doesn't feel like pasta when you eat it...

DuckonaBike · 13/11/2020 18:05

Always have fusilli, spaghetti and lasagne. Quite often other shapes (penne, macaroni etc) and tagliatelle.
This thread is making me want to eat pasta.

amillionnamechangeslater000 · 13/11/2020 18:06

I actually never usually buy gnocchi and make it from scratch as I learned how to do it as a kid. But do actually have two of the long life type packs stashed from the start of lockdown (the first one).

Spaghetti, fusilli and lasagne in the cupboard

Ravioli in the fridge

Tagliatelle in the freezer

JonHammIsMyJamm · 13/11/2020 18:08

Erm, off the top of my head...

Wholewheat fusilli
Bucatini
Linguini
Lasagne sheets
Gnocchi, are we counting gnocchi?

Plus probably some random fancy multi coloured stuff from a gift hamper, tucked in the back of a cupboard somewhere.
