Do your family wear different Xmas pjs and jumpers Every year?

OP posts:
Ifailed · 08/11/2020 18:57

No.

starsinyourpies · 08/11/2020 18:58

No. DC wear hand me downs or new wintery ones for eldest. I have a pair of PJ bottoms with robins on I wear each year.

Freshcoatofpaint · 08/11/2020 19:00

No. That would be an awful awful waste. The planet is pretty much screwed already.

We may buy new pj as a Christmas present but the are generally not Xmas themed and are worn all year around

Onamugsearch · 08/11/2020 19:03

Nope

Legoandloldolls · 08/11/2020 19:04

No. Only if they no longer fit and then it's a system.of handing down and selling the outgrown ones on Ebay or giving to community clothing bank.

My dd had outgrown hers so I bought jumper Bundle on Ebay. They only get very minimal wear so can last for many years

SpeedofaSloth · 08/11/2020 19:07

DC usually have a Christmas jumper for mufti day in December so might do, as they are still growing at least one size per year.
DH has a Christmas t-shirt which has been worn for a few years.
I have a couple of plain-ish sparkly jumpers which I might wear some years, though this year I am eyeing up a novelty print dress from Joe Browns.

Standrewsschool · 08/11/2020 19:07

Never had Christmas pjamas.

Only brought new Christmas jumpers when dc grew out of old ones.

Legoandloldolls · 08/11/2020 19:07

Also thinking about it, I bought my teens matching xmas Pjs and they have worn them continuously throughout the year. So they will thread bear before they work there way down my brood

TheWelshposter · 08/11/2020 19:08

No, I pass mine down through the kids of the family. They are only worn for a few days a year so in great condition!

fussychica · 08/11/2020 19:08

Nope.

emilyfrost · 08/11/2020 19:08

Yep, it’s a lovely fun Christmas tradition Smile

SoftAndJuicy · 08/11/2020 19:08

No

Chicchicchicchiclana · 08/11/2020 19:11

No.

DH, dd and ds have Christmas jumpers but they are about 3 years old and will go on for a few more years.

The only Chirstmas things we have are the tree and decorations (which just go on and on and on), a few extra candles on the mantlepiece, some fairy lights in the bay window, from Christmas Eve onwards some sprigs of holly, and I usually buy a paper Christmas table cloth.

Muddybuddy · 08/11/2020 19:13

No, it’s so wasteful. What possible reason could there be to have a different Christmas jumper every year, they hardly get work as it is

Squashbanana125 · 08/11/2020 19:16

Yes to new pjs but they wear them all year. And I have to get new Xmas jumpers as they have outgrown the previous one by the following Xmas. They wear them at school and normally Xmas day if they choose to

NerrSnerr · 08/11/2020 19:18

No. Both children still fit into last years Christmas pyjamas (and have worn them all year round). They'll get new ones this year and they'll last another year.

They both have Christmas jumpers (and I do as well). We have never bought them new, they come from EBay, charity shops or hand me downs.

Numberblock7 · 08/11/2020 19:20

No, we don’t do “Christmas pjs” specifically although sometimes kids end up with a Christmas/winter themed set just as part of their normal pyjama stock. I think DH has a Christmas jumper somewhere. The kids get to choose a new Christmas jumper every couple of years (I buy big and aim to get at least two Christmases out of it) but only because they’re outgrown. I don’t remember Christmas jumpers as a thing but the children really enjoy them and they’re worn a lot, if they didn’t have a Christmas jumper they’d just need one more ordinary jumper instead. New stuff just for the sake of matchy instragram family pictures is not my thing though.

GameSetMatch · 08/11/2020 19:22

No, we don’t do Christmas PJs at all, the children have a Christmas jumper as they do jumper days at school, DS gets a new one if his one from last year is too small, DS2 gets the old ones that are too small for his brother.

NotImpossible · 08/11/2020 19:23

No. Wasteful unless you'd wear them anyway. I have occasionally picked up a Christmas jumper from a charity shop and redonated it later but I'd never buy one new unless I was happy to wear it regularly. PJs I'd wear all year anyway so I'm pretty indifferent to the pattern/theme!

ohidoliketobe · 08/11/2020 19:23

We have Christmas pj's and jumpers but don't buy new each year. They are put away and brought out mid Nov to wear through to new year.
Mine and dhs are several years old! Kids get 2 years each out of a set/ jumper, DS grows out of them just in time for them to fit DD so works out nicely.

OpEd · 08/11/2020 19:25

No.

maverickallthetime · 08/11/2020 19:26

Yes to pjs as we wear them all year- I've got mine on now! No to jumpers unless grown out of or scratty

Crunchymum · 08/11/2020 19:27

Not unless anyone has grown out of them.

Spied · 08/11/2020 19:27

New PJs for dc on Xmas Eve every year ( not necessarily Xmas themed although they are this yr. They will still wear them until March time or longer). DP and I don't get new PJs.
DC get new Christmas jumpers/tops as they will have outgrown the previous years.
I won't have outgrown mine so I won't need a new oneGrin.
