Who is cooking a roast dinner today, and what will it consist of?

I'm doing:

Roast sirloin
Yorkshire puddings
Roast potatoes in beef dripping
Carrots with maple syrup
Cabbage with bacon garlic and cream

All very unhealthy but it is Sunday!

We’ve got roast chicken. Not my first choice but it’ll do. Will have with roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese and broccoli.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 08/11/2020 11:48

We are having a chicken. We will have roast potatoes and parsnips, stuffing, cabbage and leeks, steamed carrots, peas and gravy.

Whirlwind14 · 08/11/2020 11:51

Me! We normally go to my parents’, mum and I sink a bottle of prosecco, dad and DH play with the children with the background aroma of roast beef and apple crumble....

So it’s down to me todayConfused at home.

Leg of lamb
Garlic mash
Pinch of Nom recipe for broccoli
Cauliflower cheese
Carrots
Yorkshire puddings

My three year old wants apple crumble but I forgot the apples...

What can go wrong?! Just like Nanny’s famous roast!! Hmm

I'm thinking about making goulash. I've got a recipe from Eat. (I loved theirs) and haven't made it before.

I haven't got and can't get caraway seeds though so it might be a bit off.

Rockbird · 08/11/2020 11:53

Roast chicken as it's the only roast meat the dds will eat with minimal complaint. Also roasties, yorkies if I can be bothered, carrots, broccoli, peas and lashings of gravy.

dollyodee · 08/11/2020 11:58

Stuffed roast chicken
Carrots
Parsnips
Peas
Broccoli
Roast potatoes
Mash potatoes
Gravy

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 08/11/2020 12:00

We’re not doing a roast today. I’m keeping it very simple and doing hotdogs (but these are special ones - Danish, from back home; the sausages will be grilled, then I will make a hollow in a freshly baked baguette cut in half, I will fill the hollow with Franske dog dressing (similar to salad cream, but not quite the same), and insert the sausage. Had with a big glass of beer on the side. Yum!

Next Sunday we will do a roast for my DH’s birthday. Probably rack of lamb. Then we will leave off the roasts until Christmas, so that Christmas dinner will be more special.

dazzlingdeborahrose · 08/11/2020 12:02

Roast
Broccoli
Cauliflower cheese
Roasted carrots
Yorkshires.

lemmywinks84 · 08/11/2020 12:03

I'm doing chicken. Tesco didn't have any other meats yesterday.

I'm doing stuffing, yorkies, parsnips and carrots, goose fat roasties, cauliflower cheese with pancetta and green beans.

Does anyone else eat half the raw stuffing while they're making it?

Beachhuts90 · 08/11/2020 12:04

We don't normally do a roast but we are today. Roast chicken, mash, carrots, and peas.
