Man refuses to get out of shared lift

Georgeoftheinternet · 03/11/2020 00:37

Obviously we don’t know the whole story but it would appear that a person wanted to share a lift by themself.

Others facts - he may have alluded to her having corona. He record her. Neither wear wearing masks. Enclosed space.

Thoughts?

My personal thoughts are that she was in the right. If she wanted to use the lift by herself than I think people should respect her decision. To go around ranting, recording and speaking to her in a raised voice, especially given her reaction - than he’s out of order.

No idea who was technically "in the right", or whether either party was being racist, but if I'd been the woman, I'd have just got out and waited if I didn't want to share the lift. It's hardly a big deal. I wouldn't have given it any further thought.

Dinocan · 03/11/2020 10:45

Yep. He’s a racist all right. Clearly not just white people that need educating on racism,

Figgygal · 03/11/2020 10:48

What a total arrogant wanker
What the hell is he filming himself walking through the corridor for anyway? Another influencer who thinks the world owes him a living and that he is actually of any interest to anybody
He was out of order completely and utterly and a racist tool

cologne4711 · 03/11/2020 10:48

If I didn't want to share the lift I'd get out and walk.

Oh I know, you're all going to jump on me and said she had a hidden disability. Of course she did. Everyone always does, instead of just being awkward and lazy for the sake of it.

Some people just like being a pain for the sake of it, like parking in front of driveways (see thread from yesterday).

Dinocan · 03/11/2020 10:48

He must realise how ridiculous he looks, or someone does, as the 1st video was edited to try to disguise the fact that he was being racially abusive, whilst accusing someone of being racist Confused . The whole exchange really didn’t need to be filmed and put on the Internet did it? Strikes me he’s looking for 5 mins of fame and trying to increase his twitter following or something.

switswooo · 03/11/2020 10:50

@Caroncanta

I do wonder if she would have told a white/Asian person to leave the lift.

Why wouldn't she have done? Or are you trying to shoehorn BLM into this as well?

Because there are videos of Asian people calling black people monkeys. The AirBNB example is an example. Clear enough for you?
switswooo · 03/11/2020 10:52

@Caroncanta

Ooh. After MN's update, she's even MORE in the wrong if so! Entitled as well as vile

Seriously? You see that second video and thinks that is evidence that it's her in the wrong? Are you for real? There's him shouting at her, calling her a fucking bitch, accusing her of bringing coronavirus to the country, using his size and male aggression to intimidate her, yet you think shes the one whose vile?

Jeezus Christ 🙄

accusing her of bringing coronavirus to the country

I've just watched part 2 and he does not accuse her of this, stop lying.

chickenyhead · 03/11/2020 10:53

How on earth do people see her as the one in the wrong?

He "you people"d her. He was aggressive.

She left when the other woman arrived, because there were more than 2 people and whatever happened thereafter, she wasn't going anywhere in that lift. So staying would have been solely to continue a pointless provocative argument.

He is clearly racist as are many on here if they cannot see what actually went down. Honestly ffs you people my arse.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 03/11/2020 10:55

Why wouldn't she have done? Or are you trying to shoehorn BLM into this as well?

He did. Have you seen his hashtags??

Caroncanta · 03/11/2020 10:56

Because there are videos of Asian people calling black people monkeys. The AirBNB example is an example. Clear enough for you?

She didn't call him a monkey. That's pretty racist of you to try and suggest she is, just because some other Asian people have said racist things.

Caroncanta · 03/11/2020 10:58

He did. Have you seen his hashtags??

Gosh no, I don't think I want to see them.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 03/11/2020 10:58

I've just watched part 2 and he does not accuse her of this, stop lying. He does, very clearly, explicitly. Or does 'you people' only count sometimes? That's what they continue to argue about, he said, she said...

Or are you trying to shoehorn BLM into this as well? It doesn't need to be shoehorned in, he does it with all of his hashtags across all of his SM.

Hes a serial self publicist. He know what he is doing behind his phone camera.

Much as she was a pain you can't really think his reaction was in anyway OK. Can you?

Caroncanta · 03/11/2020 10:58

I've just watched part 2 and he does not accuse her of this, stop lying

Go watch it again if you didn't hear that.

Caroncanta · 03/11/2020 11:01

The Asian woman presses the elevator hold button, leading to a heated exchange. “It’s you people that brought corona,” @badguytoba tells her.

This is what he says to her. This is not ok.

Doodar · 03/11/2020 11:01

I would have had to slap her

Caroncanta · 03/11/2020 11:03

I would have had to slap her

Is that how you deal with conflict generally?

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 03/11/2020 11:05

I would have had to slap her

You social fairness warrior, you! Go you, slap the woman.

Hmm
VivaMiltonKeynes · 03/11/2020 11:06

This guy is rude , aggressive, intimidating and yes racist . I would have left the lift as these guys love to hear the sound of their own voices and love to repeat themselves endlessly .

Malvarrosa · 03/11/2020 11:12

He was clearly performing for social media and going for clicks.

Absolutely - and how many clicks has this substandard lazy nonsense received as a result of this thread?

Couchbettato · 03/11/2020 11:22

I'm confused by all these people saying because she's not wearing a mask then she's not bothered about catching covid.

Masks don't protect the wearer, masks protect others.

Perhaps she had a reason for not wearing a mask, like past sexual trauma, epilepsy, asthma or some other hidden illness.

And maybe the fact she isn't wearing a mask is one of the reasons why she's reluctant to lift share.

But no, I wouldn't want to lift share with someone who was being abusive either. Especially with someone who's got the clear physical advantage and is already acting hostile by recording his own ignorance.

BullBailey · 03/11/2020 11:23

The clear racism in those tweets is disgusting. It’s 2020, how are we still here?

Offthebus · 03/11/2020 11:25

Whether or not he said she brought coronavirus as that isn't recorded, he did say "although I should be running from you" and calls her "you people" - that's not an assumption that's what's recorded HE is racist and if she wanted to stand up for herself in that case she had all the right to do so. The whole concept isn't that she was holding a lift and not took the stairs it's him labelling her as a racist when he is the racist.

switswooo · 03/11/2020 11:27

@Caroncanta

I've just watched part 2 and he does not accuse her of this, stop lying

Go watch it again if you didn't hear that.

Go watch the video (you said it’s in the second video) it does not tell her you brought coronavirus into the country.
switswooo · 03/11/2020 11:29

This thread is full of white people who are angry that black people record things, so racism can no longer be swept under the rug.

Holding the ‘door open’ button was provocation on the part of this woman.

chickenyhead · 03/11/2020 11:30

You people is ok then

If not said by white people
