Man refuses to get out of shared lift

Obviously we don’t know the whole story but it would appear that a person wanted to share a lift by themself.

Others facts - he may have alluded to her having corona. He record her. Neither wear wearing masks. Enclosed space.

Thoughts?

My personal thoughts are that she was in the right. If she wanted to use the lift by herself than I think people should respect her decision. To go around ranting, recording and speaking to her in a raised voice, especially given her reaction - than he’s out of order.

@Caroncanta

She left as soon as as someone else appeared to witness her behaviour

It's likely she left because there was yet another person in the lift, and clearly the racist aggressive man was not backing down. And she was being filmed anyway, your assumption of her leaving because of a witness makes no sense.

Why leave because there is yet another person in the lift. Why not stand your ground if you feel strongly about it. It’s different being videod being a bit obstructive than it being witnessed in person. I’m sure most of these videos aren’t seen by millions. Just unfortunate for this woman that the guy is one of those attention seeking Insta bores.

Erm.. because there was a third person moving into a small space with her. Like I already said. Coronavirus right? Thought that was reasonably obvious.

In that case she should have left when a second person moved into a small space with her.

@Caroncanta

But if she felt so strongly about it why not tell the woman the space is only safe for 1 person in her opinion. Why is it fine to argue the point to one person but not the other.

If she was concerned about covid why not leave as soon as it became apparent that the Insta bore wasn’t going to leave.

My thoughts are she knows she is being unreasonable and is in the wrong so makes a quick exit so not to be questioned again.

Because now she's taking on two people and I would imagine it wasn't worth the hassle involving someone else who had only just stepped into the situation. Seeing as she was aware the phone was right in her face, it clearly wasn't that she was concerned that people were witnessing her behaviour. Because her behaviour wasn't bad. So she has nothing to hide. He was a racist and you can clearly hear her asking him why he said what he said to her. I think she was polite to him, if somewhat shocked at his behaviour. Which was incredibly aggressive.

Anyway we'll have to agree to disagree. You see it one way. I see it another 🤷‍♀️

Because women get called passive and the more you bow to aggressive men the worse it’s for you.

She was polite and lovely and he was really rude and racist and he also thought he was behaving so well he should put it all up on the internet. Anyway I would have left as soon as someone started filming. It seems a waste of time to hold the lift unless she was worried if she let go the button the 2 of them would be in the lift together but usually you can take your finger off the button and get your foot wedged in the door to stop it going up unless it is a massive lift.
