What was the scandal at your school?

There was the maths teacher who was known to be a bit of a creep, who was caught snagging a pupil in the school hall...never heard from him again.
And the headmistress was caught with her hands in the till, quick retirement and shipped out.
I went to a decent school I promise!

Secondary school French teacher jumped off the Humber Bridge, taking her own life.

SF college Politics A level teacher started dating a student. Apparently he used to admire her arse when she brought notes in from another form. They moved in together as soon as she left, but it didn’t last.

Nothing that I ever heard of but I know I was groped by a teacher and of course with hindsight I understand that I couldn't possibly have been the only one. He has since served a prison sentence although his conviction was based on what was held on his computer so none of his pupils had to appear in court.

Our headmaster, school Chaplin & my dentist were in a paedophile ring targeting boys.
It was long rumoured about the headmaster.

A couple of teen pregnancies, I think 1 girl had a baby before gcses and one just after.

A few years after I left the head teacher was sacked for fraud.

By which I mean I don't know if any pupils reported anything, just that his subsequent conviction for his computer contents pretty much proves to me that he did mean to touch me and I hadn't misinterpreted.

A different kind of scandal, my school appointed a celebrated local author as an English teacher. A couple of years later he was sued for plagiarism. He'd copied the book from another author, just changed the place names.

Ok, that sounds so tame now. But also, he had a really dodgy hairstyle.

About the biggest scandal I can think of is one of the year 12’s getting pregnant. Other than that my school was boooooring 😴😴

Oh apparently the head was cleared of all charges!

Boy rang the school switchboard and said there was a bomb in the school leading to the whole school being evacuated, police and bomb squad being called. He did it as a bet.... for a litre of Fanta.

French teacher made the front page of the News of the World for having sex sessions with the music teacher and ex pupils and taking photos in the classroom out of hours. We were described as a 'staunch' catholic school. Long since closed.

I can't remember anything at all!

We had a secondary school Maths teacher who would openly thrust at girls. He was head of maths and still works there. He used to stand up next to us and put one of his leg on the chair and lean forward by gently thrusting towards us.

Our English teacher used to openly turn a blind eye to me sharing her hash. The caretaker would deliver it to her drawer and then at break time she would call me over, open her drawer and look away.
Honestly, still can’t believe it, this was ‘99/2000/‘01 so even though it’s a while ago, it’s not THAT long ago!
She left teaching shortly after our year group left school was went travelling. We kept in touch for a year or so on MSN messenger. I used to think she was a super cool teacher.

Having said that, it was never a scandal exposed for all to know about!!
Perhaps when someone dangled the physics teacher out of an upstairs window - before my time but talked about for decades

The unmarried headmistress of a Catholic school got pregnant. She did return but not without many parents petitioning (and some even removing there dc).

Head of English(f) flying out to meet exHead Girl when we were on our post A level holiday in Greece. They vanished off to a different hotel for a few days.
I was contacted by Headmaster when we got back at which point I realised that I didn’t go to that school any more so didn’t have to answer any questions. Might not have been the right thing to do but I was 18 and loyal to my friend. Plus I really liked Head of English.

In primary
The teacher had a breakdown in class. She came into class and absolutely lost it. She ended up in a facility for a few months. Very sad but scandalous for a bunch of 10 year olds!
In Secondary
Year 8 - girl got pregnant at 13 by her friend boyfriend. Was moved to another school very swifly.
A teacher locked a friend on mine in a cupboard and tried to touch up her skirt and tried to unbutton her shirt. He was swiftly removed. Before that, he would always "drop" things in front of the girls tables and try and look up skirts when retrieving "dropped" object. And he had the worst temper! Any minor perceived slight and he would lose it. Someone coughed when he was talking and he threw the blackboard eraser at them.
2 married teachers having an affair. Was rumour for a long time but I witnessed them getting very snuggly at the cinema one night.

Home Ec teacher shagged the coach driver at the back of his bus one night on a school trip - we caught them. She did leave her husband after that

I have a few, middle school we had a flasher outside the gates, I remember having to give a police statement for, same school a kid in the year above me accidently hung himself on a bunk bed with a scarf.
High school, girl in love with PE teacher threatened to kill herself if he didn't love her, pupil punched one of the teachers so the teacher had him by the neck - teacher was not fired as far as I remember, substitute teacher was fired for buying kids in my year alcohol and going to parties with them...
I could go on but they may be quite outing haha

Probably the teacher who married an ex-pupil when she was only 19, they both went on to become MPs.

Head teacher got 6th former pregnant. And then got another one pregnant, who he married (presumably her father was bigger than the first girl's) stayed on as head for years after I left. They finally fired him, like 20 years later, it made the local news and I still live in the vague area. Teachers often got together - a Miss Jones left one term and returned the next term as Mrs Smith having married a teacher...

God, so many. Headmaster shagging another teacher - he was married with kids in the school so that was shit for them. One teacher having relationship with woman who's been very recently in the 6th form, who he left when he got together with another teacher (they "made it official" by having a full-on tongues snog in the school panto). Head of drama kicked out for shagging various girls. Caretaker was a nonce. I could go on

A couple of ‘scandals’

A teacher ended up marrying one of his pupils. He was very young and they only began dating after she left school. She has sadly died since.

A girl went for an abortion, then another, then a third. Looking back the poor thing was probably being abused by family.

PE teacher and geography teacher having an affair. Wouldn't have been so noteworthy but the geography teacher's husband was also a teacher at the school and he found out. There were fisticuffs in the staff room
