There was the maths teacher who was known to be a bit of a creep, who was caught snagging a pupil in the school hall...never heard from him again.
And the headmistress was caught with her hands in the till, quick retirement and shipped out.
I went to a decent school I promise!

A teacher had been grooming a student and abusing him, it became public knowledge when she became pregnant and he finally told someone. I remember some other lads came forward and some men who were ex pupils, so I think she had been doing it for quite a long time. She was married with children, so who knows if those children were her husbands biologically.

She lost her job and wad banned from teaching, but the CPS decided not to prosecute.

The French teacher was alcoholic who kept a bottle of vodka in her desk. She was a good teacher though!

PE teacher had an affair with one of the ski instructors on the school trip. All the kids knew. She went on the school trip a year later to the same place with a lot of the same kids but that year her husband went with her, and some of the kids told her husband.

A girl in my class used to make up lots of excuses to get off PE. She started saying she was pregnant and so she couldn't do PE and we all thought it was another excuse. She was telling the truth though. She left school and had another by the time she was 16. I hope she's doing OK now.

Arsehole teacher who used to try to be down with the kids. Often didn't teach us the lesson and tried to show off that he smoked weed and knew youth slang. Smoked weed with some of the boys. We all thought he was a twat.

Pervy form tutor. Never did anything as far as I know but would make pervy comments to the girls. Left our school to go teach at a Catholic girls school.

Science teacher was badly affected by his divorce and gave up bothering to try to teach. Instead he'd sometimes take us all out to bunk the lesson en masse. He'd tell us if we got caught by any senior management to say we had permission slips from our parents and we'd go to the local park and just hang out. We thought he was great! The older kids doing their GCSEs, less so.

Forgot to say, she was 13 at the time.
@noitjustwontdo Our Geography teacher married a pupil shortly after her A levels. Everyone knew they were dating though even though his 1st wife taught at the school too!
East of England by any chance?

IT teacher was a renowned pencil dropper up skirt peeve and crotch brusher. He also like to stand next to you and point his crotch in your face while he ‘supervised’. He was grotesque.

When we went into year 7 seniors all the older girls warned us about him.

One of the girls in my class became inappropriately fixated with one of our female teachers.

TheLovelinessOfDemons · 31/08/2021 11:02

@hellcatspangle

Head of year stole the money that parents had been paying in weekly for a residential trip, and blamed a student. It all came out in the end and he got the sack.
If I'd been one of those parents I'd have cried. Every single residential trip DD2's been on my aunt's paid for, or she'd never have been able to go. Obviously, that HOY didn't think of struggling parents.

I realise that there are far worse things on this thread, but that just really got to me.

14 year old got pregnant and had the baby

CapybaraConnoisseur · 31/08/2021 12:42

possibly outing, but the murder of a teacher on school grounds, when i left. :(

Racingadmin · 31/08/2021 12:55

Married graphics teacher having an affair with girl in lower sixth

Couple of year tens got pregnant and kept the baby

A spate of bullying was stopped when an elder brother turned up outside school with a piece of scaffold pole filed with concrete

Local pub got in a lot of trouble for letting us underage sixth formers drink there every Friday lunchtime. Only got caught when a teacher turned up at the same time for a cheeky pint

Not my school as such, but involved me on my way to school. I was waiting for the bus and it was always anyone's guess if I'd get on as it was usually packed. Anyway, the bus drove by and I thought 'shit, better start walking', then I realised the bus had stopped about 30 yards up the road and all the kids were piling out onto the pavement, screaming and shouting. There were flames and smoke flying out of the back window. Apparently some 'joker' thought it'd be a laugh to set fire to the back seat. It wasn't anyone from my school, so I don't know what happened to them.

There were a few girls who 'went to stay in the country' because they were pregnant. Our headmistress used to warn us that holding hands with the boys from the boys' grammar school we shared a campus with, would lead to unwanted pregnancies. Turns out the old girl was right😂 God, she was just awful in so many ways though ...

Wormwoodgal · 31/08/2021 14:12

At my junior school the head teacher and music teacher had a long affair (both married men).
At a school I worked in, a sixth former from Pakistan applying to university in the U.K. turned out to have false papers. He was actually already a university graduate and had a wife and family in Pakistan.

GinJeanie · 31/08/2021 14:29

One of the popular girls got cystitis after sleeping with a ski instructor on a trip to Italy. She was 15 and he would have been late 20s/early 30s. We all thought he looked like George Michael and she became even more popular as a result (although I think her parents were furious). Makes my skin crawl when I think about blokes like him preying on school girls but we didn't question it at the time (80s) 😞.

LloydColeandtheCoconuts · 31/08/2021 14:32

Me! I had a relationship with the Geography teacher. I was the English teacher at the time though Grin
Still together 22 years later and have long left the school. We did both phone in sick on two occasions. Once to have a day out at the beach and the other to go to his friend's wedding abroad. This was before people knew we were going out so we would have got away with it by DP told a colleague and but the following week everyone knew. We weren't pulled up on it but it was an uncomfortable end of term Blush

Cas112 · 31/08/2021 15:18

Sadly a year 11 killed a year 8 boy after making advances towards him and the younger boy resisted, he was eventually found in a wheely bin near a local park and the year 11 was sentenced to life.

Horrific

Maths teacher in his 50s married a 16 year old from the 6th form. Her mother thought it was wonderful!

FooFighter99 · 31/08/2021 15:40

The History teacher having an affair with the Geography teacher's wife Sad

Geography teacher was lovely guy, History teacher was a fucking disgusting bloke

Fetchthevet · 31/08/2021 15:48

At my Catholic primary school we used to overhear the deputy head discussing his colourful sex life at playtime. We also had a year 4 teacher who got so frustrated with the class she would leave them on their own while she sat in her car and had a drink and a smoke. Oh and the Reception teacher often fell asleep at her desk and had to be woken by the head at home time. No safeguarding in those days I guess.

afrikat · 31/08/2021 16:22

I had multiple friends leave because they were pregnant. Youngest was 13

Debetswell · 31/08/2021 16:48

Shocking how many teachers have/had inappropriate relationships with pupils.

A geography teacher at my school dated and eventually married a sixth former.

The maths teacher dumped a geography teacher in favour of the new English teacher, she then dumped him for the Latin teacher!
The physics teacher had an extra marital affair with the biology teacher.
He stayed with his wife though who visited him in hospital when I was a nurse. He'd fallen off his garage roof.
The headmaster and his wife used to swim naked in the outdoor pool after school had finished.
Obviously the naked bit could be rumour!😅

I'm 90% sure I know what you're referring to Flowers. Terrible all around.
HoldMeCloserTinyBadger · 31/08/2021 17:10

Bloody hell! This thread is fascinating and shocking!

My mum informed me she’d had a bit of a, um, ‘dalliance’ with her biology teacher, but once she’d left school she realised she didn’t fancy him and he was still really keen. Confused But apparently that sort of this was/is(?) much more common than I had previously thought.

MedusasBadHairDay · 31/08/2021 17:49

Middle school, one of the pupils had brought a (I believe) slingshot into school, fired it through a window and injured a teacher. He was always in trouble and was expelled after that.

Also middle school, there was a regular supply teacher we all hated, he used to slam rulers down on your desk millimetres from your hands, or throw board rubbers at pupils heads. Apparently he ended up being kicked out of the school after grabbing a year 6 girl and trying to kiss her, a hip flask was later found in his desk drawer.

It's also possible that I ended up being the source of a scandal in my grammar school, a few years after leaving I overheard some kids wearing the school uniform point at me and say, "isn't she the one who.." but couldn't make it the end of the sentence. But it was possibly that I got accused of putting a curse on another pupil. I was openly pagan, and someone went to the head of year to say they were scared of me because I'd cursed them. Still no idea who I was meant to have cursed, or why. 🤣

HoldMeCloserTinyBadger · 31/08/2021 18:06

@MedusasBadHairDay you’ve reminded me that I got marched into the Head’s office for “witchcraft”. Basically, a few of us had watched The Craft one too many times, started writing spells, carrying crystals about etc and someone had reported it Hmm. We got told off because we were all supposed to be good Christian girls (I never signed anything to promise that…).
And that we’d need counselling going forward and that this was Satanism. We were only 12 or 13, it was all so innocent! It was a shocking over reaction.

My Mum told the School to stop wasting her time when she finally got it out of them what they urgently needed her to come in to discuss. Grin

luannlele · 31/08/2021 18:34

Wayyy after I left school it came out that the caretaker who lived on site was a pedo. He'd abused girls where he'd previously worked. His wife got so much stick for it (apparently she had no idea of all this) they ended up losing the house, no one wanted to buy it due to the stories spread. It ended up being knocked down for the school to expand, the two separated and the wife was forced into accommodation provided by council miles away from family and friends.
As a child I also thought he was odd hanging around the girls toilets - he'd always say hello and ask if anything needed fixing in there. I remember a girl who suffered from anorexia was always in them toilets using the hand dryers to keepwarm, but when she was hospitalised due to her condition, the caretaker was nowhere near them toilets! I find it ironic any fun days the school did, he would always dress up as superman!

luannlele · 31/08/2021 19:06

This didn't happen in my school but I can remember the estate I grew up in there was a man who was a maths teacher then after the 6wk holiday they'd turned up to school as a full woman sex change and everything, they was very open about it to the pupils in the school
