What was the scandal at your school?

There was the maths teacher who was known to be a bit of a creep, who was caught snagging a pupil in the school hall...never heard from him again.
And the headmistress was caught with her hands in the till, quick retirement and shipped out.
I went to a decent school I promise!

Paedos and molesters. It always amazes me when people talk about how rare it is and how we should be trusting, benefit of the doubt etc ... yet they were/are in so many schools, driving schools, extra curricular activities etc!

The scandal is that child molesters and groomers are still given so much benefit of the doubt before removal (if even removed) and that the punishments are practically non existent. Also, often they are quietly moved onto another school or training facility.

Still. To this very day.

In primary school - asbestos found in a wall meaning the entire school relocated to the village hall for a year. (What would it do to the children? - nothing!)
Then there was the headmaster who sat on the toilet which broke - he was off for six months. Actually badly injured but didn’t stop the gossip.
Secondary school, rumours someone got pregnant and returned afterwards, but no one knew who or even what year she was supposed to be in. So probably malicious gossip.

In my primary (on one of the Scottish islands) we had wild grounds, used to be a few accidents and pupils flown to the mainland. Punctured lung, head cracked on tarmac under swings were some I remember.

My friend and I ran away and hid on the beach one day and it took hours for them to find us.

Another with a paedophile teacher 😩 he used to always put his hands on our waist and I remember my friend asking where a classroom was and he took her hand and walked her to it without letting go the whole way. She kept looking back at me with a confused look! After we left school it was in the papers that he’d be done for paedophilia. Yuck!

My friend (16) slept with my other friends Dad (40ish) at her house party, while his wife was downstairs ... EVERYONE found out. Except the wife as far as I know.

Also a lad I knew in school was really naughty and he got on the wrong side of this awfully tempered substitute teacher. Anyway in the end the teacher head butted the lad! The lad was expelled and the teacher was FIANLLY sacked. He was so awful. He used to scream at the students and shove the tables aggressively.

@noitjustwontdo Our Geography teacher married a pupil shortly after her A levels. Everyone knew they were dating though even though his 1st wife taught at the school too!

Maths teacher at our school held up an off licence as needed the money to pay off gambling debts!!

A new PE had a facial deformity and was mocked repeatedly by one of the boys on our year, until one day he snapped and punched the boy in the face. The teacher was never seen again.

Skiing trip: on the last night one of the teachers went to bed rather the worse for wear and accidentally got into the wrong bed, surprising the boy who was already sleeping there. The teacher woke up after a bit, went Shock and walked out to his own room. No one who was on the trip ever repeated this to anyone not on the trip because it was obviously an accident and the teacher was ace.

What else... A boy at school annoying the local drug dealer and having to be collected from the head's office by his parents every day so he didn't get beaten up.

God my school was the epitome of boring. Other than the fact the head and another teacher were in a lesbian relationship, there was nothing controversial at all

Oh we also had a terrible art teacher who used to physically push kids around and she actually got caught hiding/‘losing’ kids coursework when she didn’t like them so that they’d fail their GCSE. I really hope she’s been sacked by now.

Teen pregnancy - oh, the horror!
Science teacher dated and then married the Head Girl!
Gym teacher goaded by utterly vile boy in my sister’s year and grabbed him by the shirt front. Boy went to press with allegations of being “slammed against the lockers” and it was all over the papers. Gym teacher lost his job.

And the parents/ oldies thought the lesbian couple was a bit 😱 at the time but we were secretly very proud of them as they were ladies in their 50s. All girls school.

A teacher seeing a pupil, her parents knew and we're ok with it. Nothing happened. At my DDs school two teachers caught having sex in a cupboard. Both fired in the end.

A couple of girls who, several years apart, made the same type of video for respective boyfriends, with interesting objects being.. used. The drama surrounding that was hideous for them Sad
A lot of underage pregnancies
A maths teacher lived in his supply cupboard in the corner of his classroom
A married male teacher started shagging a married female teacher, who’s husband was also a teacher at school, and got her pregnant with twins. You couldn’t write it 🤷🏼‍♀️
Someone with a shotgun was roaming town and the whole school got shut down
News broke very recently that one of our teachers is a serial rapist. Absolutely horrific details to the story, and everyone was shocked to the core. Always a creepy kind of guy but the level of what he did... horrific

All at a perfectly normal state school in the rural South West.

teacher having a relationship with a y10 pupil, both female. Everyone was shocked as there wasn't an inkling the student was a lesbian(not that it matters but it caused a lot of the girls to shun her 🙄) anyway the same pupil disappeared for a couple of months in y11 and and came back pregnant.

Maths Teacher and DT teacher were married but she was having an affair with another maths teacher.

He found out and killed her (using something he created in the DT classroom) with their kids in the house. Was horrific.

And the other DT teacher sacked for sleeping with a student. Not a good few years for our school.

Headteacher of my secondary school had an affair with chair of govs, and had to resign suddenly. Also, a school I worked in as an adult - HT had lied quite significantly on application form and was forced to resign immediately when it was discovered. She was a compulsive liar, and possibly an alcoholic too...
