There was the maths teacher who was known to be a bit of a creep, who was caught snagging a pupil in the school hall...never heard from him again.
And the headmistress was caught with her hands in the till, quick retirement and shipped out.
I went to a decent school I promise!

Geography teacher married a girl in the year below me not long after she left school.

Apparently they're still together and very happy, last I heard. That was over 30 years ago.

Within the language lab there was another room that was used for storage. One day the deputy head teacher walked in to find one of the older female pupils in there with the French teacher and caretaker.
Pupil was expelled and the French teacher and caretaker were never seen in the school again.
Apparently it had happened a few times and rumours were going round so head teachers were keeping a close eye withwhat was going on. This is 40 years ago and it still gets brought up in conversation in my town.

80s, old maths teacher used to pretend to have fits and rub up against year 5 girls - only ever the girls who were around 15/16, he was fired for making a pupil eat chalk

We had one teacher who was frustrated with a girl turning around talking in his lesson and caught her hoop earrings to turn her around and manged to tear her ear lopes. He was never seen again.

Another sub PE teacher accused a student of faking a Doctors letter and made the student do PE. Cue the student having a very serious asthma attack and ended up in hospital. Vice Principal tried covering that one up.

We had one teen pregnancy where sadly a family member was suspected of being the father. The girl left the school not long after.

A wonderful French teacher in about 74/75 told us she lived with her boyfriend. She was dismissed.

2015 elite cofe girls secondary: the deputy head with spiritual responsibility and the head of RE were found "at it" at the staff Christmas party. Saddest thing was that his dd was at the school. Complete oaf. He disappeared- she's still there which equally poor.

My 3rd year primary school teacher was done for paedophile crimes against young boys. All found on his computer.

He was a really odd man and my mum found him creepy. He gave me my love of reading though as he was great at that which I do find very unsettling

Decades ago, but we had a revolution!

A new headmistress decided to ban all Christmas-present giving between pupils. It wasn’t as if anyone had ever spent much anyway, but once it was banned of course we all gave more presents than before, even if it was just a packet of Polos.
The atmosphere in school (600, all girls) on the last day of the Christmas term was seething with rebellion. Everyone who’d disobeyed her edict had to go to her study to be told how ‘disappointed’ (aka pissed off!) she was - the queue was about a mile long.

Best end of term fun we’d ever had - it even made the local paper!

Our school priest was sent to prison for making and distributing images of child abuse. He got 6 months it makes me feel sick that we used to have to go to mass and confess our 12 year old ‘sins’ to him while he was doing that . He was very odd. There was something strange about him. I remember him making one comment when we were on a school trip that we’d probably all be sneaking into each other’s rooms and having sex. We were 13

two teachers at Junior school used to get on the sherry at lunchtime usual mints breath smell after lunch of course! don't know what happened to the one but the other sadly was an alcoholic and took her life by jumping out of her home upstairs window landing on concrete so sad.
In secondary one 15 year old was pregnant surprised it was not before that to be honest.
One pupil set fire to the girl's loos and contrary to popular opinion I wa not involved.

This was a few years after I left but there were so many unplanned pregnancies that a comdom machine was installed in the sixth-form toilets and the ensuing rumpus made the lower end Murdoch newspapers.

First year teacher married a student a year after she graduated. They only had a 4
year age difference. They both swore nothing happened while she was a student and she never was a student in his class, though she did work as a classroom aide. Their attraction was obvious to everyone who saw them together.

My just turned 14 year old Pakistani friend told us one day she was leaving school. Apparently she was off to Pakistan (she had never been before and was as Northern English a lass as I was) and was to marry her "dad's mate". He was in his 40's. She cried pretty much constantly about it but the teachers never did call her parents. Now I'm older I get why. That same term after she left a campaign about forced arranged marriage was introduced and helpline posters were placed around the school.

There were several very open teacher-pupil relationships.

And one teacher abused a girl in my year, who was told not to make a fuss because he'd lose his job and had a family to support so she'd be to blame if she spoke out! I often think of her, poor girl, and wonder how she's doing now.

And a 12 year old girl who left school because she was pregnant. Turned out later the father was her own dad. Grim.

In my primary school there was a man and woman who came into the playground one day, they played games with us but weren’t connected to the school in any way. They said they had sweets for us in the car and things but thankfully no one went with them. I was young so I don’t really know what the outcome was.

In high school there was a PE teacher who was dating one of the pupils and then left his wife for her once she left school, that was before I was at high school but he still worked there when I went and I was in the same year as his son. They were together for years and everyone always talked about it, he was a popular teacher.

The Home Economics teacher was sleeping with the janitor which everyone knew about and was awkward as her daughter was at the school.

French teacher had a breakdown and never came back, she was harassed constantly in class and you could just see her crumbling more each lesson and had zero control over anyone.

RE teacher was obsessed with Bob Marley and so many of our lessons were about him, she always looked stoned.

We had an incredibly fit DT teacher join, he was more of an assistant I think and the girls all fancied him and would find excuses to be alone in the cupboard with him, everyone always wanted to sit next to him on trips etc. Think he was happily married and a decent guy so wouldn’t have done anything but didn’t stop girls desperately trying.

And of course we had the usual teen pregnancies and crazy behaviour from kids.

Stupid one for my old secondary school. There was a phase of someone defacating in random areas- the school stage, outside the lockers etc. We had a strict school assembly about ousting the culprit never found out who it was but was (and still is!) always referred to fondly as 'The Phantom Sh**ter' by us pupils.

Mine was from the mid 1950's era. I was 15, and just about to leave school at the beginning of the summer holidays for the school. Everyone was in the classrooms, chattering, and packing up things in their bags etc. I needed to scoot to the girls toilet block, I went in the room, and there were two of the female teachers in there, One was my favourite art and music teacher, who was really good looking, always dressed in flowy colourful BO HO type of dresses, wavy black hair flowing down her back, The other was our stocky muscled PE teacher, quite manish looking, The both of them stood in the corner, kissing and fondling eachother ( fully clothed thankfully).

I just ran out quickly and back to the classroom, and never said anything to anybody,,

As it was the 1950's, we girls had usually never seen or heard of this kind of goings on between older women, so then, we girls would have thought this was quite,or very scandalous.

One of my friends older sisters was murdered by a boyfriend on holiday.

Male RE teacher fondled a boy on a school trip. I don’t think anything was done about it.

One of my best friends left school aged 14 and just never came back. I have reconnected with her in the last couple of years - she had got pregnant and her parents made her have an abortion and moved house as a result. So sad, she had so little support and we didn’t have a clue.

I had no idea at the time and it didn’t impact me but since leaving school my peripatetic music teacher has been jailed and labelled one of the uks most prolific sexual abusers.

One of my female friends snogged a teacher in a cupboard at a 6th form party. To be fair we all fancied him and were jealous.

The art teacher was dodgy too but I can’t remember why and I never did art anyway!
