What was the scandal at your school?

There was the maths teacher who was known to be a bit of a creep, who was caught snagging a pupil in the school hall...never heard from him again.
And the headmistress was caught with her hands in the till, quick retirement and shipped out.
I went to a decent school I promise!

Girl in my year who got pregnant at 15 and was asked to leave (private girls school).

Lovely teacher who had a nervous breakdown after accidentally killing a pedestrian who walked out front of his car.

When I was around seven years old, the teacher asked a boy in my class to stop messing about. He threw a book at the teacher and then peed on the floor ( deliberately )
The next thing we knew, the boy's father was storming into the classroom, yanked the boys trousers down and gave him a thrashing across his knee
Then he stood up and snapped at the teacher ' that's how you deal with it, don't phone me again!' and stormed back out.
We were agog.
There was never any more trouble from that poor young boy.

My mentor during my NQT year turned out to have lots of child abuse and animal abuse images on his laptop and was jailed for a year. Everyone was shocked because he was respected by both staff and students despite being openly gay in a rough, under subscribed south London school.

Same school, young PE teacher colleague had an affair with student. I'm not sure when it started but they met when she used to teach him in year 10 and continued a long time after he left. All the students knew and senior management must have too but she carried on teaching.

Economics teacher (who was much admired by most girls) married a pupil. They’re actually still together I believe, 30 years on.
I am wondering if you went to a girl's grammar school in a seaside town, or if Economics teachers marrying pupils was a bit of a trend 30 years ago?!

I forgot three more
One was two girls went to answer the register in form class-then fucked off the school grounds
There was a fire in the drama room and because they where marked as being in school,firefighters went in to look for them
Two firemen lost their lives and we never saw the girls again-I remember being made to walk across a wet muddy field to get away from the fire

The other was as I was in the last year (year 11) and two girls from my brothers year (year 8/9) used to walk down the drive at lunch,hitch their skirts right up and a bloke (who was at least 30) would drive up and hoot his horn
They’d get in his car,fuck off and be dropped off again just before the bell
School where fully aware of this and did nothing-my brother says they did this until the day they left

A girl just suddenly stopped coming to school and the rumour was she’d been snatched by a pervert in the street
She did come back after a year and she claimed it was true-he’d snatched her and held her for a few hours for a ransom
God only knows if it was true-she was known for telling tall tales but none of the adults around us would talk about it
The rumour mill did get more and more juicy though

At DDs school one of the teachers had a baby by another one of the teachers (though she was married to someone else).

At my school we had a teacher who apparently was found with photos on his work computer.

We had at least 3 girls pregnant whilst sitting GCSEs.

A friend of mine had a abortion when she was in Year 8. A different friend had an abortion when she was in Year 9.

One of the teachers was in relationship with an ex pupil but everyone said they'd started being flirty etc whilst she was still at school.

I remember our head of year coming into school with all of her hair chopped off (it looked really bad) and grazes all over her face. Everyone said she'd had a breakdown.

(Reading all these is making me feel so anxious Sad, there needs to be more checks on people who are working with children.)

At my secondary school in the late 90s we had a teacher who used to shag one of the sixth formers in his van at lunchtime. They got married years later. He was such a perv though and was always making comments about female students legs and arses. It was common knowledge but no one seemed to care!

12 year old had twins. She had one every 12-18 months after that. No one seemed to think about safeguarding back then.

Female PE teacher used to drink beer with male PE teacher in lunchtime before supervising kids, and gym equipment in the afternoon. Male PE teacher was also the woodwork teacher, so they locked themselves in the workshop. Their cans of beer and feet could be viewed from a high window outside accessed on a window ledge.

Our Photography teacher left his pupils with instructions to print some negatives of a safari while he went to answer the phone. They found a neg at the end of the roll of him doing unspeakable things to his wife (also a teacher at the school) who was wearing nothing but over the knee socks. Obviously those pupils made several copies and distributed them around the school. It turned into a big scandal. I don't know how they survived it, but I always remember wondering how she could continue teaching after everyone had seen her naked, practically spatchcocked on the bed...

Ours was all very run of the mill: creepy teachers and sixth formers plus a couple of guys who went for even younger kids. One got busted and had a suspended prison sentence. He was in The News Of The World! But never actually in prison ... Hmm.

My dad's head and deputy embezzled and also the head was pretty handy with young female members of staff by all accounts, plus there were two that got convicted for images of CSA so depressingly it seems that little has changed despite DBA etc.

In my school days (1970s) a male teacher started dating/grooming a 13 year girl in my class. the girl left school for a while, the teacher turned up with a black eye, badly beaten up by the girl's father, teacher 'removed' the next day and was never seen again.

More recently, in a school I worked in as staff.... It was a boys' boarding school with a very strict housemaster. One summer, the older boys who were leaving sneaked out at night and used weedkiller to spray a genital sign and rude words onto the housemaster's lawn. The boys left and a couple of days later the sign and words appeared, etched in very bright yellow dead grass right across the lawn, visible to all.
Took ages to grow out and that garden was the housemaster's pride and joy.......!

Not my school, but someone DH grew up with had an affair with a pupil. Her husband and a load of other people found out about it and teacher ended the affair. The student shot himself (died). It went to court.
Husband divorced teacher and she had to move away in disgrace.

A treacher having sex with one of the sixth year girls in a supply closet regularly. Was also dating one of the other teachers. Was discovered when one of the pupils friends walked into my modern studies class with a bag of dirt- through it all over him and called him a child abuser. He was stood down that day and sacked shortly afterwards.

At my school - the "scandal" was that the headmistress and the French mistress were apparently in a relationship. It was never really open but most of us knew.

At the high school in the town I now live in, a female teacher was sacked after having sex with several of the older boys. That was very messy - one of the boys was clearly uncomfortable with the situation and told his older sister, who outed it on SM but was then savaged by the local population for spreading rumours and lies - but they were later found to be true. It went to court, she was convicted but I'm not sure if she went to jail or not. Lost her job and her husband though.

A local primary school, again not mine but I know about it, the PTA embezzled thousands from the funds and ended up in court with convictions.

My music teacher was murdered in a gay-hate crime. This was Sydney in the '80s, when the police turned a blind eye to gay people being assaulted and killed, dismissing it as "poofter bashing". My teacher had met a young male in a bar and arranged to see him again later in a park. Male turned up with his brother and a gun and shot my teacher several times in the back. There were so many witnesses, the police couldn't get away with ignoring it. The defendants claimed provocation and "gay panic" and got a lesser charge of manslaughter, even though what they did was clearly premeditated.

He was a wonderful teacher, and his death haunts me still.

I went to what was and is considered the best school in the area but the following went on was early 2000s.

The teachers had a smoking shed on premises that when inspectors came wasn’t used.

There was a tree right at end of boundary that was know as the weed tree. Everyone knew about it but teachers just did nothing.

One teacher left before being sacked for showing graphic images and videos of beheadings. I hated said teacher who was such a twat. I remember saying bugger me (no idea what it meant) and he ridiculed me and laughed at me I front of the who class. Called me stupid etc.

One teacher had an affair with another teachers husband.

One teacher had issues with alcohol and wasn’t always in control of her drinking.

One teacher had a relationship with a 14 year old. Big scandal arrest etc.

Head of year stole the money that parents had been paying in weekly for a residential trip, and blamed a student. It all came out in the end and he got the sack.
