There was the maths teacher who was known to be a bit of a creep, who was caught snagging a pupil in the school hall...never heard from him again.
And the headmistress was caught with her hands in the till, quick retirement and shipped out.
I went to a decent school I promise!

My English teacher came back to school after the summer holidays as a married man. He'd married a girl who'd graduated that summer having been his student during her A-levels. As far as I know, the school did nothing about it. Even weirder, his teaching assistant was a part time vicar or preacher or something similar and there were a lot of rumours that they were shagging. I know there are always stupid rumours like that but they arrived in the same car each morning, touched each other a lot etc. It was very obvious they had some sort of relationship.

Me - I was going out with a student teacher and was caught holding his hand when he did training at my school! It was dodgy - I was only 14 and I believe he was grooming me.

The teachers covered up for him and my parents were not told.

I dumped him soon afterwards, thank goodness.

This was the early eighties.

Teacher sexually assaulting a couple of girls in my year when we were around 12/13 very sad I know one is still massively affected to this day :(
Psychology teacher at our college teaching gcse and sixth form was married to a lady that had not long left the school she was 19 and pregnant by him in his late 50s.
Major creep vibes from the arts tech assistant who used to film all our drama and music events - he used to hang around us and try and meet up with us outside school when we were all around 16. We all knew him as ‘creepy paul’ he was sacked in recent year for processing indecent images of minors ☹️

Also -

A boy felt faint during an exam, stood up, passed out and fell through the (closed window) onto the playground.

The exam was cancelled as everyone was so shocked.

The boy made a full recovery.

[quote RaspberryCoulis]Not at my school, but at the school where my kids are now, there was a famous 90s case of a 32 (? ish) year old former pupils re-enrolling as a 17 year old in an attempt to get into medical school. He was eventually found out during a holiday with other pupils when his real passport came to light.

Still talked about 25 years later.

I knew someone would post this! It was such a huge story. This was my school, he was the year above me. It was bonkers. My mate got interviewed on Sky News 😄

German Grammar school

Early Eighties - English teacher had affair with six form pupil, pupil left school, teacher stayed

Late Eighties - same teacher had affairs with three six form girls at the same time, it blew up when the girls discover his “harem”.

It is very difficult in Germany to sack a teacher, they have a special employment status as a public servant but you can be moved even without you applying to a different posting.

When the harem story made it through the school he was sent 200km away to a boys only school.

The drama teacher smoking weed with Y11 pupils on a residential Shock

GlummyMcGlummerson · 04/11/2020 22:29

Oh and a teacher openly dating a sixth former Shock late 90's - I'm not surprised at all to read of all the pedophilia, safeguarding really was non-existent

NoEffingWay · 08/11/2020 09:16

I can't believe how many teacher pupil relationships there must have been! There were always rumours of sixth formers dating teachers but I always assumed it was utter bollocks. I feel very naive now!

I know this is an old thread, but it really bought some memories rushing back to me.

Posh all girls school, two male teachers had inappropriate relationships with pupils. One year 11 one with a sixth former. Both were sacked.

Male Art teacher tried to snog his A level student after she got her results. We were told he’d got bronchitis and that’s why he was there anymore. I’m not actually sure which one is true.

The biggest one was the IT guy planting cameras in the primary school toilets! It was awful. He’d been putting the footage online. The school brushed it under the carpet and it never seemed to get out how bad it was and to what extent. All very shady.

Caught two of our (married, not to each other) art teachers fondling each other’s boobs in the supply cupboard. That was embarrassing for all involved.

Apparently one of the science teachers sent some inappropriate emails to some girls after they left school implying that she could be their lesbian guide and telling them that the headmistress was a bully. Bit weird.

It’s closed now.

iloveeverykindofcat · 30/08/2021 13:50

Science teacher got 9 years for causing death by dangerous driving. I don't know the details of the incident but he definitely went to prison.

2bazookas · 30/08/2021 14:13

Mrs X, a young female married teacher, was caught in flagrante having a passionate snog with a female pupil.

Mrs X was seen leaving the Head';s office in tears and never returned.

Twittootwat · 30/08/2021 14:28

Oh! And one girl tried to seduce the music teacher. Apparently she left a detailed note on his desk describing all the things she’d let him do to her. She was only about 14.

SaborDeSoledad · 30/08/2021 14:58

The DT teacher swiped loads of wood from school supplies for his new house. He went before he was pushed.

YouJustDoYou · 30/08/2021 15:00

Back in the 90s now. A 14 year old pupil was made pregnant by a 25 year old. She gave birth just after turning 15. He wasn't prosecuted, nothing happened to him- he completely dumped her and the baby and walked away. It was really sad.

YouJustDoYou · 30/08/2021 15:02

head master of one school was a paedo- got sent to prison. Caretaker of the second school I went to was also a paedo - got caught with the boys pants in his office, also found perving in the boys when they were getting changed. Photos of the boys found etc.

MissyB1 · 30/08/2021 15:04

In the 80s, 15 year old girl pregnant with twins - her dad was strongly rumoured to be the father, Very sad.

Itsbeen84yearss · 30/08/2021 15:15

We had a phantom pooper. Someone used to poop in carrier bags and leave the bags in weird places around school. One day a whole corridor had to be cordoned off because a particularly heavy bag had come tumbling out of a locker.

stargirl1701 · 30/08/2021 15:17

Woodwork teacher openly drank whiskey during class.

PE teacher had a relationship with a 4th year pupil and then divorced his wife to marry her after she left school.

AdoptedBumpkin · 30/08/2021 15:40

My high school was pretty dull I think. The usual issues existed including some nutcase teachers but nothing really remarkable happened involving the teachers or support staff.

There was one obvious affair among the teachers, not involving pupils, which created some gossip over a few years, but wasn't a big scandal.

Someone I know went to a school where the head defrauded the school and went on the run Shock

SnottyLottie · 30/08/2021 15:46

A girl accused a teacher of being a peadophile and of inappropriately touching her.

I’ll never forget it. I was in a lunchtime GCSE revision class when the accused teacher came running into our classroom (our teacher was the head of that department). He was hysterical, saying “she’s saying that I’ve touched her” and our teacher was trying to calm him down and take him outside so we wouldn’t hear what was going on. They only went next door and we could hear everything.

It transpired that he had told her off for something during class and asked her to stay behind. He threatened to put her on red report and she threatened to accuse him of being a paedophile. This obviously flustered him and I think she got off on the power she had over him. She walked out of the classroom and told the first teacher she found that he had touched her up. The HoD screamed “this is why you don’t keep them behind after class on your own!” at him whilst he was sobbing. It was horrific.

He was suspended whilst they investigated but she eventually admitted she lied. None of the teachers believed he had done it, as one discreetly informed us that he “batted for the other team”, but the school had to be seen as taking it seriously.

He was then horrendously bullied by the pupils for being gay. He lasted until the end of the school year and then left, poor guy ☹️

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 30/08/2021 15:52

Teacher being led out in handcuffs after she punched a student in the face.

At the DCs primary school the most exciting thing to have happened yet is a text message to parents informing us that there was a chicken loose in the playground and did anyone know whose it was 😂

Twittootwat · 30/08/2021 15:57

@SnottyLottie Jesus. Poor bloke!

I’ve just remembered another from primary school when our teacher had an affair with one of the girls dads and got pregnant. It was a really hideous situation and the girls mum, who was lovely, ended up having a nervous breakdown at the school gates.

Zilla1 · 30/08/2021 16:02

Homemade bomb under a teacher's car.

Zilla1 · 30/08/2021 16:03

Though that wasn't the worst which I suspect would make the school and year too identifiable.
