I can't be the only one who does this? I also change my cushions and sometimes my curtains Blush

My coloured fairy lights stay up all year. 😂😂😂

Cocolapew · 20/10/2020 17:35

Winter. Not Christmas.
I'm not immaculate clean or tidy Smile

I have fairy lights that stay up all year too

My Mum did this!! She had lighter bedding and curtains in the spring/ summer and darker heavier in the winter all over the house.
It seems like a lot of faff to me. I replace things when they are worn or I'm redecorating.

Zaphodsotherhead · 20/10/2020 17:39

My best friend hangs completely different pictures in winter! She goes round the whole house and changes rugs, duvet covers, throws, cushions - pretty much everything!

But then, she puts her Christmas decs up on 01 December, so I reckon she's a bit crazed (no small children to excuse it!)

lakesidewinter · 20/10/2020 17:40

OP, this is terrible.
You've missed out autumn.
Currently our house is leaves, pumpkins and nuts.

Winter won't happen until after Thanksgiving.
Happily in the USA this is considered normal, DH thinks I'm nuts for doing it but I really like seasonal decor. Particularly when we are spending so much time at home.

SippeeTippee · 20/10/2020 17:40

OP you clearly have too much time, money and storage space! I love it Grin

Ginfordinner · 20/10/2020 17:40

My mum used to have summer and winter curtains, and so did MIL. Our curtains are thick anyway, but it would never occur to me to change them summer and winter. Far too much effort.

Do people with no children or grown up children even "do" Halloween?

Toddlerteaplease · 20/10/2020 17:41

I have a winter quilt and winter pyjamas. My sister thinks I'm weird.

movingonup20 · 20/10/2020 17:43

Never heard of changing curtains but I bought new candles today

Cocolapew · 20/10/2020 17:45

I thought Autumn was too much like Halloween 🎃😂 I couldn't find Autumny stuff.

Gosh! Winter curtains! I thought that only happened in our house! Shock

QueenPaws · 20/10/2020 17:48

My neighbours appeared to have put up a Christmas tree in their window. I did Hmm face and got a bit closer to nosy and they've got a tree up but it's covered in Halloween decorations Grin looks really good

formerbabe · 20/10/2020 17:49

People must have lots of display space. My house is modern...so no fireplaces or any spaces to display stuff.

Impatientwino · 20/10/2020 17:54

I do love a bit of autumn/winter stuff. I have a bowl of pine cones I picked with my grandmother years ago that come out for the colder months.

Recently got these wax warmers which I'm loving!

I also have some fleecy blankets that I put out in the living room for snuggling under with the DC and DH.

Would love fairy lights!

“Winter decor”
WTactualF?! 😂😂😂😂😂

No. I do not have ‘winter decor’. I don’t know anyone who has ‘winter decor’. It’s not a ‘thing’. I’ve never known anyone change their curtains and cushions with the seasons! Your daughter is correct: that all looks very Christmassy.

DeciduousPerennial · 20/10/2020 17:56

I wish I could be organised and tidy enough to have different decor for seasons. I don’t even have different wardrobes for summer and winter 😂

simbobs · 20/10/2020 17:56

I have a summer weight duvet and a winter weight one, but that's it. Never heard of anyone doing this.

Sceptre86 · 20/10/2020 18:02

It looks beautiful you have inspired me. My mil likes to change up her cushion and moves her sofas around at this time of year.

S111n20 · 20/10/2020 18:02

I love the idea of this and may have to copy.

ColonSemiColon · 20/10/2020 18:02

Someone I used to know had different sofa covers for summer and winter! I think seasonal decorations are pretty normal, but missing out autumn?!

MaddieElla · 20/10/2020 18:03

You are totally unreasonable because you've totally missed out Autumn decorating!

I have an Autumn wreath, autumn coloured pot pourri and pine cones in a bowl and autumn Reed infuser. Winter items come out in December.

I don't change my curtains mind you. Grin

WFHWFH2020 · 20/10/2020 18:04

I think it looks lovey and cosy 🍂

shinynewapple2020 · 20/10/2020 18:05

I think it's a lovely idea @Cocolapew . People with Halloween decorations are normally doing them for young children ; it's too early for Christmas decorations but starting to get dark and drab , particularly when we change the clocks in a week or so .

We all need cheering up at the moment and your house looks very cheery . Perfect for a time when you are probably going to be spending more time at home than usual

I'm guessing your DD is a teenager ?
