I've started a new one. Please join us and share the boring and mundane things happening in your world. It will be calming for all.

I slept with 2 duvets over me.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 30/10/2020 16:42

I got a lot of verbena cuttings, I'll try to get them grow roots.

BefuddledPerson · 30/10/2020 16:46

We went to an art gallery, haven't been for so long, it was fantastic to see something new. And now we've had pasta for tea, and all preparing to do absolutely nothing this evening.

soddingkitten · 30/10/2020 16:57

I cleared out the pantry, made a spreadsheet of what’s in there with eat by dates so we don’t waste food and put it all back neatly. Sodding “helped” with typing in to the spreadsheet, mostly dollar signs and stray punctuation. Hmm

DS2 made chocolate chip shortbread which is now cooling. Sodding chased the empty butter wrapper around on the floor until DS put it in the bin.

Last night I dreamt that I was Rupert Everett’s gay lover and he was throwing me a fabulous birthday party in an ostentatious mansion. I spent a lot of the dream/party pondering how to clear the pond weed, pike and a mythic water serpent out of the ‘wild’ swimming pool in the garden because I wanted a swim. Rupert got cross and argued with me because I was late for my birthday meal. I’m sure a Freudian analyst would have a field day with that one.

sueelleker · 30/10/2020 17:12

@Champagneforeverone; Bertie Basset?

BasiliskStare · 30/10/2020 17:26

@Thankssomuch - Yes I rather like Alistair Appleton - one of the most interesting things I have had to decide today Grin

In other news I have had a replacement part for my hoover delivered.

HelloDulling · 30/10/2020 17:34

Thank you. He had rinsed like this every morning for the last three years or so. These sinuses are an ongoing inconvenience.

Thankssomuch · 30/10/2020 17:34

BasiliskStare he’s certainly my favourite although I do like all of the presenters. I’m always intrigued to see the mystery house. 😀

Spudlet · 30/10/2020 17:46

@BasiliskStare @Thankssomuch Alastair is our favourite too. It’s the way he can’t quite prevent the facial leakage when he’s confronted with a properly batshit couple... the ones who want and old thatched cottage but no low ceilings, or who want to be completely secluded and in the middle of nowhere, but also within walking distance of a pub, shop, and train station... Those are the best ones!

Spudlet · 30/10/2020 17:50

Although my favourite episodes, regardless of presenter, are the ones where ‘Mother’ has sold up and will be living with the couple, who are then shown a palatial house with ‘an outbuilding to be converted into a granny flat’ [cuts to literal barn, likely with some livestock in situ] Grin Poor Mother!

Taswama · 30/10/2020 17:52

My new frying pan had been delivered when we got back from a walk. The lid arrived in a completely seperate parcel about half an hour later.
Still waiting for the Halloween movie that I ordered.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 30/10/2020 18:03

Oh that reminds me - DH's papers are still on the sofa (extended futon thing 1,5 x 2 m) - which sure gives a sense of calm stability.

MsAnnFrope · 30/10/2020 18:04

I bought DD some new winter boots today and our somewhat rotund cat is now sleeping in the box.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 30/10/2020 18:15

I wonder what it is with cats and boxes. Sev's favourite box was way to small for him.

HelloDulling · 30/10/2020 18:23

I’m watching a Foyle’s War with a glass of wine. I don’t have my glasses to hand, so can’t really see it, but I’ve seen this one before so it doesn’t really matter.

BasiliskStare · 30/10/2020 18:23

@Thankssomuch and @Spudlet & also the way - we want to downsize but can't do without a second sitting room - study / workshop etc etc etc - Oh it just takes me laugh. & ( this is more about myself ) we need a vegetable patch . Well , no you don't - live somewhere where you can walk round to a shop ( I do realise some people love growing vegetables & lovely - but if you have never done it before - just check you want to plant and dig up all your vegetables) - that said - my mother is having a tiny area with meadow grass turf laid because she likes bees Oh dear. But yes Alistair Appleton is lovely as is Jules ( the older nice one ) , I do agree Alistair Appleton does a good - lovely face when presented with batshit opinions.

BasiliskStare · 30/10/2020 18:25

@HelloDulling - Wine to you - Foyle's War is utterly fantastic. Your very good health Flowers

EggyPegg · 30/10/2020 19:16

My friend moved house today so I collected the storage bench she'd offered me (for free!) as they are downsizing. I was thrilled to receive it as I've been coveting one for a while and had decided that we'd have one built into our new kitchen when we do our extension. I hadn't told DH that I was bringing it home so that he couldn't stop me. Fortunately he declared it as 'smart'.
I've got it home and dcat1 has claimed it.

SpeedofaSloth · 30/10/2020 19:20

We go into Tier 2 tomorrow so we had a nice visit with family while we still can, then got fish and chips on the way home. Watching Ghosts on catch-up with DD now.

SpeedofaSloth · 30/10/2020 19:21

Nice bench @EggyPegg.

Thankssomuch · 30/10/2020 19:39

basiliskstare and spudlet - I like listening out for the phrases -
“Yes, this does tick all the boxes”
“It’s smaller than we had anticipated”
“You can’t put a price on that view”
“I love the double aspect, it makes it nice and light”
😀

Thankssomuch · 30/10/2020 19:41

HelloDulling I love Foyle’s War 👍

MissConductUS · 30/10/2020 20:28

@Thankssomuch

HelloDulling I love Foyle’s War 👍
OMG, Foyle's War was the first British TV series I ever watched and I adored it. I may have to rewatch a few episodes this week.

@HelloDulling - I'm sorry the saline rinse hasn't solved his problem. A head transplant may be his only other option. Grin

Just about to have pancakes with cider
