What's the best chocolate?

I was reading another thread where people are saying how much chocolate has changed over the years. I used to love Cadbury's but it's just nothing-y now. Really feels like eating sugar for very little reward.

Now I like Co Op's fairtrade range, and Montezuma's Absolute Black.

What did you used to like, and what do you like now?

Cheap stuff - sainsbury value equivalent Dark, no palm oil

More expensive - most "proper" dark chocolate, such as co-op fair trade, Lindt all the stuff that is well over £1 per slim bar!!

Not a big chocolate fan anymore but used to love Cadburys. As a child I remember when Cadburys Caramel were filled with actual caramel and not toffee like now. They always taste stale. Now if I go for chocolate I will chose one or two nice Butlers truffles.

I used to like maltesers but find them tasteless.

Now I like:
Hotel chocolate caramel batons
Hotel chocolate white tiddly pots
Lindt Dark Seasalt

If we're talking a massive special treat kind of chocolate then it's got to be Fortnum and Mason 😍 their violet creams are heaven in a bite!

MaMisled · 14/10/2020 14:04

Green and Blacks every flavour, Lindt White, Cadbury Giant Buttons or Marsh and Mallow Dark Chocolate and Raspberry.

Well it isn't Cadbury's. That's for sure. Mondelez destroyed a major brand.

@dottiedodah I've just had a look at the Chococo website, they've got a great range. I might order some for my truffle-making endeavours.

@HappyHedgehog247 I'm with you on the Co Op fairtrade orange. Takes me about 23 seconds to eat a bar!
