Mine, because I finally got around to watching it this weekend, Hamilton is all that great.(though I do have the dadadaaadadaaa chorus from the king’s song in my head)
So come on, those sacred cows of film and tv, why don’t you like them?
Oh yeah, the Beatles. The Kinks were better.

(whispers) I don't mind it!

MrsPresley · 12/10/2020 17:10

Can't stand anything Harry Potter, John Lennon (but don't mind the Beatles) also can't be arsed with Lewis Capaldi, Kate Middleton or Claudia Wnkleman!

Whenwillow · 12/10/2020 17:12

Adele. Particularly 'Hello' and 'Someone like you'. They make me turn thd radio off Blush

Insaneinthemembury · 12/10/2020 17:13

Yes to Normal People being shit! He was evasive, dull and had huge emotional/intimacy issues. They barely had a functioning relationship, it was terrible.
Mrs Brown's Boys makes me question human beings in general. How anyone can find that entertaining is beyond me

REDLIPSTICKANDNAILS · 12/10/2020 17:14

Harry Potter - I just don't get it

Breaking Bad was shit

Reality TV and z list celebs are a waste of time

Star Wars - boring

TheSeedsOfADream · 12/10/2020 17:15

John Lennon was definitely a knob. He wrote some beautiful things but was deeply unpleasant.
Bob Dylan is a similar knob.
Sean Connery is a knob.
Hugh Bonneville is a knob.

Mrsjayy · 12/10/2020 17:16

I love Adele she is so melodramaticGrin

LilyE1234 · 12/10/2020 17:22

I loathe Queen. Bohemian rhapsody is like nails to a chalk board.

David Attenborough- I don’t get the fascination with his voice? His documentaries are fascinating though

lazylinguist · 12/10/2020 17:23

I think all reality tv, soaps, gameshows, talkshows, talent shows and shows about celebrities are utterly shit. I hate almost all stand-up comedy. I think Nirvana were overrated and have a particular hatred of Guns 'n Roses. Axl Rose's voice makes me want to claw my own ears off. Breaking Bad was based on a good premise, but became ridiculous really quickly. I dislike almost all musicals, the more modern ones especially. Les Mis is particularly dire. Tried watching the film version and switched it off in total incredulity.

Figgygal · 12/10/2020 17:34

Yes to Ant (and I loved him from his PJ and Duncan days I remember scouring over any photographs in magazines where he wasn’t wearing his trademark hats and putting them in a scrapbook Blush)
He was a cunt to Lisa and should be ashamed

I hated wicked

slipperywhensparticus · 12/10/2020 18:46

The ones who do interviews complaining that their privacy is being invaded they never see the irony 🙄

Nestofvipers · 12/10/2020 19:25

@MrsEricBana
Of course I love strictly- I never claimed to have good taste (because I’d clearly be deluded or lying if I did!)

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 12/10/2020 20:00

I can’t stand bgt and such, but I especially, particularly and definitely cannot be doing with children on talent shows. As Sartre might have said “Hell is Other people’s kids singing.”

I dont like kid magicians I find the whole thing really cringy !

MartiniDry · 12/10/2020 20:11

Blur are bleugh! The Beatles were crap and John Lennon was worse than the rest in the irritation stakes.

HIGNFY has never been as good since Angus Deayton left.

Robin Williams wasn't anywhere near as funny as he was cracked up to be. Jonathan Ross is funnier and nicer than he comes across on television. The Smiths are utter, utter shite and should never have been allowed within 50 miles of a microphone.

Go on, take me down. I'm waiting. 😬

MartiniDry · 12/10/2020 20:21

TheSeedsOfADream, Hugh Bonneville? Not the Hugh Bonneville?
Surely you must be speaking of another, lesser known Hugh Bonneville!

TheSeedsOfADream · 12/10/2020 20:29
Grin Well, it's kind of an irrational hatred....whenever it was (maybe ten years back?) there was a super injunction. And before it was revealed who it was...the blurb and the "leaks" kept going on about the injunction being for "the finest actor if his generation". And we had threads on here going Sir Ian McKellen? David Tennant? Anthony Hopkins (another knob) etc etc. And then when it was revealed, we were "who?" (This was before his Earl Grantham days, he used to get murdered in Midsomer Wallop and what have you) and for ages it became a bit of a standing joke, "HB, finest actor of his generation (in his own words)"

He's only a knob for that. I love DA as much as the next man. Grin

Nestofvipers · 12/10/2020 20:30

@TheSeedsOfADream
I don’t think this Hugh Bonneville is a knob. is an unpopular opinion. in fact I’d say it’s quite the opposite.

TheSeedsOfADream · 12/10/2020 20:31

WarmSausageTea · 12/10/2020 20:43

I thought Goodfellas was absolute rubbish and hated every single one of its 600+ minute running time. And Joe Pesci is terrible in it. Hated it.

Prince wrote some cracking tunes, but had pretty much no quality control. Most seem to be around twice as long as they should be. Purple Rain and When Doves Cry in particular seem to drone on for hours.

Ant and Dec are embarrassing. Rich and massively popular, but embarrassing and nothing like as funny as they seem to think they are.

Steve Wright must know where a LOT of bodies are buried. How else is he still in a job?

I enjoyed that.

Beaverdam100 · 12/10/2020 20:46

I don't like Ant and Dec, Gavin and Stacey or Harry Potter.

REDLIPSTICKANDNAILS · 12/10/2020 20:54

Steve Wright on Radio 2. Who actually enjoys his show????

Fizbosshoes · 12/10/2020 21:12

Id be way more surprised to find anyone who did like Steve Wright, or find anything he said, or any characters remotely funny

Gilead · 12/10/2020 21:17

Hate forest hump and got bored with the Musical Barnum/Hugh Jackman bus!

Notverybright · 12/10/2020 21:19

The hobbit films were better than the Lotr films, even though they did go on for a long time, they were much more fun (I do love Elijah Wood).
