I can't sleep and was just wondering why other people would be awake at this hour

OP posts:
Gertiegumboot · 04/10/2020 03:50

yesiamyesiamokaycallmeback atm it's worth being tired just to get a little alone time.

otterbaby · 04/10/2020 03:52

I think I'm in labour...or at least early labour. And it hurts Confused exciting though!

Arcadia · 04/10/2020 03:59

Couple of drinks (literally two but always disturbs my sleep now), worrying about Covid stats, hungry (despite huge meal out last night), loud rain in the window, slight migraine.
Sorry for those unwell/stressed, and good luck with the baby to those due/in labour!

Arcadia · 04/10/2020 04:01

I also woke up really hot for some reason!

CanICelebrate · 04/10/2020 04:12

I think my new piercing is infected and I’m in agony! Currently trying to bathe it in salt water Sad

I went to bed really early (9pm ish) and snapped awake at quarter to 3 and haven't been able to nod back off so I've give up and come through to the living room to browse Mumsnet/play animal crossing.

I'm recovering from a broken ankle (snapped in 3 places, pins and plates etc) at the moment and my sleep pattern has gone to shit. I've been sleeping on a single bed in the dining room for the past 12 weeks as I've not been allowed to bear any weight and it's not very comfy. I'm off crutches now but the stairs are a way off yet due to them being near vertical and very narrow. I miss my own bed. Also the shower. It's an over the bath one and I physically can't get in at the moment. I'm having a full strip wash every day but it's not the same.

In short, breaking your ankle is pants. Do not recommend.

HRTRefusal · 04/10/2020 04:37

I woke up last night with a severe case of "the dreads", didn't get back to sleep for hours after it and slept until noon. Now I'm a wee bit hesitant to go to sleep in case it happens again. I've never known anything like it, menopause is a blast sometimes.

Tink1990 · 04/10/2020 04:38

Have tummy ache Sad

Oblomov20 · 04/10/2020 04:40

Good luck for birth otter.

I've been awake 3-4am for the last month or so. I finally got HRT this week after fighting for 2 years.

I've never felt so miserable. Hopefully I will feel better soon.

HRTRefusal · 04/10/2020 04:43

Hope it works for you Oblomov20

Oblomov20 · 04/10/2020 04:46

Likewise to you refusal.

Frownette · 04/10/2020 04:50

Some of these sound painful :( @DeadButDelicious do you have any help until it's healed more?

I just got a cup of tea as quietly as I could.

Exciting about otterbaby!

Thesuzle · 04/10/2020 05:00

The rain, the bloody rain

MrsCremuel · 04/10/2020 05:04

Toddler with a cold, rocking him back to sleep and holding a tissue with olbas oil under his nose. He usually still wakes once a night and like a sucker I still feed him.to sleep....

WinWinnieTheWay · 04/10/2020 05:04

Had wine this evening - I'm sure that my night waking is symptomatic of the peri menopause, but if I drink wine I'm guaranteed to wake.

DeadButDelicious · 04/10/2020 05:07

I do @Frownette Smile

DH, managed to change his shift times so he's here in the mornings and evenings and my mum and dad and my MIL have been on hand to help out too. We have an almost 4 year old DD so it's mostly her they look after. I'm pretty self sufficient now I'm off crutches but I can't run around after her like I used too, mostly because the ski boot thing I have to wear causes a tilt in my pelvis and it hurts after a while. She started nursery in September and I was able to take her on her first day (we went in the car, if I'd tried walking I would have to have left the week before Grin).

I'm waiting on a CT scan to see if I'm allowed to ditch the wretched boot, the ankle itself is feeling strong (I'm allowed to take a few steps without it every day to build up strength) but it feels very strange as I have a lot of numbness around the two hefty scars from my op. Doesn't quite feel like my ankle again yet.

So yes, to reiterate, broken ankle = rubbish.

SimonJT · 04/10/2020 05:10

The cat decided she needed my attention, this woke the dog up. Everyone else is asleep so I’m quietly seething and grumpy.

Drogonssmile · 04/10/2020 05:15

DS2 who was in the bed with me had a pull up fail and I have had to change the sheet. Luckily have a mattress protector on as I am also having some horrendous night sweats and have also just had to change my nightie and stick the lot in the wash. Bloody irritated. DS2 only has two modes. Asleep and VERY LOUD and has woken the whole household so he and DS1 are now "having a chat and a sleepover" in DS1's bed. No chance they're going back to sleep. DH is already asleep again in the spare bed and DCat thinks it breakfast time.
Long gone are my Sunday lie in days 😫

AnIdiot · 04/10/2020 07:25

It turns out I'm incapable of sleeping last 6am even when the dog isn't here to wake me.

Tomatoesneedtoripen · 04/10/2020 07:31

no idea, awake before 6
needed a wee
might have a nap in the afternoon

YukoandHiro · 04/10/2020 08:50

Any news @otterbaby?

midnightstar66 · 04/10/2020 09:08

@FourPlasticRings it was meant to be vents 😆. Yes I found the window, last place I looked in DC's bedroom (they are at their dads so room is empty)

Gertiegumboot · 04/10/2020 10:37

Ooh just returned to this thread after a lie in and a dog walk - really exciting to read Otterbaby's post. Hope you are ok!

Hang in there Oblomov

CalmRedSea · 05/10/2020 01:55

Just had a conversation with DD about our plans for mushroom hunting in Autumn.

Was it labour @otterbaby ?
