Mine is (Jam For) World In Action. A very powerful and thought-provoking piece that suited the nature of the programme perfectly.

I quite liked Barnacle Bill from Blue Peter before the Mike Oldfield arrangement displaced it. A pleasant, jolly hockey sticks kind of number.

I’m quite partial to the BBC News theme too

@Straven123 oh my, YES, Versailles. It’s called Outro. What a theme! It’s what made me watch it. LOVED that programme.

Theme to Black Beauty! Going to have it at my funeral [heart emoshie] as the coffin slides behind the curtains.

Dogtanian and the muskehounds .

There's so much good television music but it wasn't hard for me to pick my favourite. Just now I'm listening to Sleepy Shores (Squeaky Shoes) by Johnny Pearson, the theme to Owen, M.D. Very serene.

Peston, makes me feel really mournful, but I love it.

I expect I'm alone with this one.

MissisBee · 01/10/2020 18:58

Thomas the tank engine, obviously.

Game of thrones
Downton Abbey

pointythings · 01/10/2020 19:01

So many to choose from - but my absolute two favourites are both Star Trek:

Deep Space Nine
Picard

sueelleker · 01/10/2020 19:05

The theme for the Joan Hickson Miss Marple films. It fits so beautifully with the drawings at the start.

TeaSoakedDisasterMagnet · 01/10/2020 19:07

The American version of the office

WildRosie · 01/10/2020 19:08

One more before I turn in for the night. Gala Performance by Laurie Johnson, used as the theme for This Is Your Life. A bold, majestic, swinging orchestral fanfare. Or something like that. It's not dissimilar to the original Avengers theme, also by Laurie Johnson.

Game of Thrones for that feeling that you’re about to watch something epic. I never let DH fast forward the theme tune.

Friends and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air for singalong value.

The Bill for nostalgia.

fewming · 01/10/2020 19:36

Thunderbirds!

A family at war (excellent 70's drama)

@janj2301

Dr Blake, I love violin music, my husband contacted the production company and got me the few minutes from Amazon. ]]
When I first heard this whilst watching the programme I had to rewind to listen to it over and over. By far my absolute fav theme tune. It is beautiful.
