Mine is (Jam For) World In Action. A very powerful and thought-provoking piece that suited the nature of the programme perfectly.

I quite liked Barnacle Bill from Blue Peter before the Mike Oldfield arrangement displaced it. A pleasant, jolly hockey sticks kind of number.

I've always loved the theme tune to Angel, probably because I played the cello for many years and feel its beauty is underrated Grin

More recently, the Succession theme is excellent. I usually hit the "skip intro" button when I'm binge watching a show but I was happy to let that one play.

This is reminding me how great the music was on all of those European childrens' drama shows that the BBC used to show dubbed into English during childrens' hour
The White Horses
The Flashing Blade
Belle and Sebastian
Heidi
Robinson Crusoe
.... and who can forget the creepy, scary, nightmare inducing "Ringing Singing Tree"

As others have said, White Horses and Robinson Crusoe from my childhood.

More recently The Bridge and Queens Gambit. I also love the theme to Mrs America - a 1976 disco version of Beethoven's 5th Symphony.

The Flashing Blade

Hill street Blues

Dangerfield

Ace of Wands

Golden Girls

Not technically a theme but the music used at the start of episode 1 of the Icelandic drama Trapped (Vor í Vaglaskógi by Kaleo)

Also the theme to the Swedish "Sandhamn Murders" (like Midsomer murders at sea)

The theme from Succession - cheerful but somehow sinister at the same time. Brilliantly suitable for the series.

Makes me feel tearful ! - very evocative
I bought the CD but somehow wasn't quite the same.

The original "Van der Valk" - "Eye Level" : combined with the scenes of Amsterdam. Actually made me visit Amsterdam several times. I live in Australia

Love so many of the ones mentioned already. I've just started watching the Detectorists and that is definitely my new favourite. I also like Anne with an E.

Just going to add ChiPs, it's so funky 😁

Anyone mentioned Wonder Woman? I am a child of the 80's 😆

Match of the Day music circa 1978.
I loved The Onedin Line theme too.

The theme music for Gay Byrne's morning radio show on RTE was great.
'Tico's Tune'

Also 'Imogene' by Les Reed - it was RTE's 1970 World Cup coverage theme, and also I believe John Dunne's theme on BBC Radio 2.

The Tra la la song from The Banana Splits...
