Mine is (Jam For) World In Action. A very powerful and thought-provoking piece that suited the nature of the programme perfectly.

I quite liked Barnacle Bill from Blue Peter before the Mike Oldfield arrangement displaced it. A pleasant, jolly hockey sticks kind of number.

Fraggle Rock
The Lightning Tree from Follyfoot

Oh, and Captain Pugwash - can't believe it hasn't already been mentioned!

Oh, should have said, for Monkey Magic, it was the closing music I loved!

houmousexpert · 01/10/2020 12:30

I love too many 80s kids' show theme tunes to mention! But, more recently, Line of Duty and Succession.

The Last Kingdom

The theme music and soundtrack album are both awesome. Sung by Eivor, a Faroese singer, it's beautiful and moving and thought provoking

The Odd Couple
It reminds me of my Dad, it was one of his favourites and the music fit perfectly. It just popped into my head Smile
Also the Lloyd George TV Series music that someone mentioned up thread.

Also love Cheers - it makes me cry a bit when it goes “wouldn’t you like to get away....?” Sad

and Frasier’s tossed salad and scrambled eggs is a classic.

I'm sixteen and I'm feeling kind of on the shelf,
Sometimes I get a funny pain.
My boyfriend likes my girlfriend,
And I cry in vain.
Please help me in my agony,
Dear Jane, Dear Jane, Dear Jane.

'Agony' starring Maureen Lipman. The tune and lyrics have stuck with me after all these years. I may have been mildly depressed for 40 odd years...

Versailles. Haunting theme somehow sounded a bit better on the series than if you hear it elsewhere - maybe was remixed.
Succession the award winning series. Amazing theme perfect for the disfunctional characters.
