Mine is (Jam For) World In Action. A very powerful and thought-provoking piece that suited the nature of the programme perfectly.

I quite liked Barnacle Bill from Blue Peter before the Mike Oldfield arrangement displaced it. A pleasant, jolly hockey sticks kind of number.

@WildRosie.

When I saw the title of this I immediately thought of Jam for World in Action too. It’s an amazing piece of music.

The Bridge, hollow talk by the choir of young believers and this the theme from Occupied m.youtube.com/watch?v=W1OJfdXRzPE Why do Nordic noir's have the best theme songs?

The Test Match cricket music is called Soul Limbo by Booker T and the MGs.

I'm just listening to Tomorrow's World by John Dankworth. Such a classy big band number.

Too choice!

Hell on Wheels would get my vote for more recent shows.

Jam For World In Action has a long and complex history viz. its compositional credit(s). A pity.

I've moved on to Mr Benn now; not the theme but the incidental music. Brilliant.

The West Wing
Big Bang Theory
( the dreariest theme tune has to be 'All our Yesterdays' which was on a Monday evening just before 'Coronation Street' in the 1960s)

So many good bits of music! I never thought myself much of a sports fan, but I would add the Horse of the Year Show music to Ski Sunday and Test Match Special. Very evocative tunes. I love anything with a cello in it too, so Angel and GoT are up there. And Box of Delights is just a fantastic mix of adventure and Christmas and childhood all rolled into one. We bought it on DVD and watch it with our kids, it stands the test of time.

Turning in for the night but, the Follyfoot theme - The Lightning Tree - was performed by The Settlers. Another of their songs - Major to Minor - is on YouTube. Well worth a listen. Brilliant vocal harmonies.

The Lonely Man theme, a piano solo from the original Incredible Hulk series, is a thing of stark beauty.
