Mine is (Jam For) World In Action. A very powerful and thought-provoking piece that suited the nature of the programme perfectly.

I quite liked Barnacle Bill from Blue Peter before the Mike Oldfield arrangement displaced it. A pleasant, jolly hockey sticks kind of number.

The Onedin Line
Van der Valk
Alice Nevers - (a French series) - I love the music at the end

Outnumberedwoman, came on to say original Van Der Valk - at least there was a small nod to the original in the new version.

Detectorists for sure, (theme tune and also the Unthanks Magpie song) Onedin Line, Life and Times of David Lloyd George. Morse.

Morse
Perry Mason
True Blood
Willy Fogg! I'd forgotten that but yes I loved it.
She Ra was a good one too.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 30/09/2020 22:09

Morse is just hauntingly, soaringly beautiful and melancholy.

Game of Thrones is stirring and dramatic.

Honourable mention for Buffy and Angel.

However, never has a theme tune fitted its show more perfectly than Red Right Hand does Peaky Blinders.

Detectorists and The Bridge for me, not a coincidence that they're also two of my very favourite programmes!

gingajewel · 30/09/2020 22:25

Ski Sunday and game of thrones!

merryhouse · 30/09/2020 22:27

Test Match Special.

(quibble - I know TMS is the radio programme)

It lifts my spirits every time I hear it. I don't know whether it's the music itself, or the fact that Watching Cricket means it's a lazy summer day with few responsibilities, or what.

TiptopJ · 30/09/2020 22:27

I used to watch a show called weeds ( think it was by the same writer as OITNB) and the opening song was called Little boxes. I love it and still sing it.
