Curry I hope you do not mind?
I put the last message in, and didn't find a new thread. Which I found disquiting, so to calm my nerves here goes.

DH has taken DD and DS to the orthodontist.

TheOneWhoWalksInTheSun · 14/10/2020 12:04

Dentistry is a major event nowadays surely!

OublietteBravo · 14/10/2020 12:07

I went for a walk during this morning’s town hall meeting and listened in via my phone.

Frownette · 14/10/2020 12:27

I just got locked in the loo, couldn't underdo the lock. Got out after 5 minutes yelling for my neighbour and wriggling the lock. Could have been worse.

Peasbewithyou · 14/10/2020 12:30

I’ve just been informed by Amazon that the wrist weights I ordered will be here shortly. I have signed up for 2 exercise classes this evening because it’s DH’s big birthday soon and I want to look nice at the swanky restaurant we are going to. In reality I will probably not be able to lift my arms.

Wheelyyyy · 14/10/2020 12:34

Waiting for garden stones to be delivered.
Been working in the garden to clear things ready for the stones. Having a break now watching 'who do u think u are'(theres not much else on. After having some leftover curry and cauliflour rice for lunch.

My two dogs are on the settee with me....even though there not aloud. They have 9/10 of the settee...i seem to be squished on the rest.

For excitement...after this program finishes...ill be off to the rubbish dump. Whoop whoop...living the dream😊

FawnDrench · 14/10/2020 12:52

DH is power-washing the decking.

I have planted cyclamen and pansies in my pots at the front.

I am feeling exceptionally accomplished at the very tiny amount of gardening all I have achieved - I am VERY easily pleased though..

Champagneforeveryone · 14/10/2020 13:02

It's here!!!

It needs to unfurl for 24 hours which is a bit annoying. I suspect we won't wait 24 hours.

Champagneforeveryone · 14/10/2020 13:04

taswama, skips are indeed very grown up. As is planting pansies really.

Spudlet · 14/10/2020 13:16

I might make my Christmas cake next week. It gives me lots of time to stuff as much booze in as possible.

EggyPegg · 14/10/2020 13:43

@Champagneforeveryone I feel that this update is too exciting for this thread. But I am very pleased for Creaky DDog. Picture of the elusive bed please.

I have been to work,am now home, have had lunch and should really crack on with some uni work. I am considering a short nap before the school run instead.

MrsWooster · 14/10/2020 13:55

@frownette I believe brandy is more part of the trad recipe... I put double in my Christmas cake in case we suffer some grape-related deficiency-can’t be too careful in the winter weather.

BillywigSting · 14/10/2020 14:04

I'm taking a break from ploughing through the mountain of ironing I so diligently ignored yesterday. I'm listening to Fleetwood mac rumours though so it could be worse.

I grew up with that album and every song on it could be a single in its own right.

MissConductUS · 14/10/2020 14:10

@Champagneforeveryone If it needs to unfurl for a day it must be a memory foam bed. Lucky DDog! The enforced wait will induce boredom, which means that your update is perfect for this thread. It may also smell a bit of latex, which is another good reason to air it out for a day.

We don't make Christmas cakes here. We make Christmas cookies biscuits and the odd pie or two, especially apple or pecan.

Frownette · 14/10/2020 14:21

I'm not sure actually as I've never done it before but I'll have a bash! I'm going to try the brandy route and long matches.

We shall compare notes, I'll start an Xmas pud thread.

Helocariad · 14/10/2020 14:26

From my workspace I've been watching a sparrow sticking its head in and out of our nestbox this morning. It's too big to get in so I don't know what it's after.
A gorgeous autumn day where I am. DC1 is feeling under the weather (cold) and stayed home from school, poor thing, though I suspect she's enjoying having me-time with a book on the sofa.

forgetthehousework · 14/10/2020 15:22

Filled in the hole left by the root we dug out yesterday and now I have decided to do some tidying.
Which is why I'm sitting here drinking coffee and reading MN.

MissConductUS · 14/10/2020 15:24

When I click POST MESSAGE we'll be down to six more posts before the thread fills up.

It's a bit nerve-racking.

KoalaRabbit · 14/10/2020 15:33

I just had more frosties. DD and DS have their next orthodontist appointment - lockdown permitting on 26th November at which they'll have braces fitted. It's true it maybe exciting news now after a 2 year wait. DD said her teacher tried to book a regular dental appointment and they said that will be April, didn't say which year. Grin

My dull and unexciting weekly shopping trip was disrupted by a text from my bank asking me to contact their Fraud Dept URGENTLY as a security issue had been raised on my account. They then mentioned casually that my account was frozen until they heard from me Hmm I left Morrison in a strop, phoned them, recited my life history to clear security and was told that there had been a 'large number of transactions' on my debit card today. I pointed out that it's called shopping and did he think he was my husband? He then reeled off a lengthy list of transactions and I confirmed they were all mine but he was missing the £45 for petrol at Tesco. He then said I should allow 10-15 minutes for the account to be unfrozen before trying to use my card again.

Which means it's HIS fault I bought knitting wool as I had to browse while I was filling in the 15 minutes. Didn't I? Grin

Inarightpickleandpreserve · 14/10/2020 16:05

I have bought some green beans for the dinner and the packet looks smaller than usual.

MissConductUS · 14/10/2020 16:14

That's either a lot of petrol or it's very expensive in the UK. I just paid $2.19 per US gallon, which works out to $0.57 per liter, which equates to 0.44 GBP per liter.

I've now done my maths for the day. Grin

Spudlet · 14/10/2020 16:20

I’ve got a chilli con carne in the slow cooker. I just tried a bit. I may have gone a bit heavy on the chilli flakes 🥵
