Curry I hope you do not mind?
I put the last message in, and didn't find a new thread. Which I found disquiting, so to calm my nerves here goes.

I have changed my sheets. So nice to get rid of the disease nest after being poorly.

I will get dressed in a bit and look at my lovely drawers in my wardrobe that I very much enjoyed organising.

Later I will watch a cleaning video (even though I probably won't do any cleaning as I am still recovering) just because I find them soothing. Like having a lovely mum bustling away in the background.

KoalaRabbit · 13/10/2020 09:46

I've just watched the David Attenborough film on Netflix and had a bowl of frosties.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 13/10/2020 09:51

Am I too late for coffee, Squirrel26? That's very kind of you.

LoeliaPonsonby · 13/10/2020 09:54

The guinea pigs have eaten some spinach.

Squirrel26 · 13/10/2020 09:54

Nope, @DonkeysDontRideBicycles, I will get on that now. Milk? Sugar?

The verdict on the roof is that there is some moss and some misplaced slates. It will be expensive, but not ‘sell a kidney’ expensive.

I've started knitting again (last time was probably 10-11 years ago when DS was a baby; prior to that, probably 15+ years since I had completed anything). I’m not very good at it - very slow and frequently mess up - so decided to knit myself a Christmas jumper as it's very low stakes and won't matter if it looks a bit rubbish/doesn't fit very well. Also I had loads of wool which came from my late DM and most of it is red or white so went with that.

I'm finding it Sooo relaxing (even when I mess up and have to unravel multiple rows lol) that I don't really want to do anything else! It's improved my mood more than anything else since this whole nightmare started, I think.

TenCornMaidens · 13/10/2020 10:24

Your knitting sounds nice, @turquoise50 Brew

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 13/10/2020 10:31

Full of cold, so taking advantage of DS being at school to lie on sofa with the dog. She's such a lovely girl and being with her just makes my insides melt....

Champagneforeveryone · 13/10/2020 10:32

DS has been sent home from 6th form after a friend tested positive for COVID.

Fun times ahead then....

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 13/10/2020 10:57

That was perfect thanks Squirrel.
I can't knit. Blush
Sorry to hear your DS has had to come home, Champagne.

Spudlet · 13/10/2020 10:57

Just back from my rainy run in the woods. I’ve been walking, riding and running around those woods for 12 years but I still managed to get slightly lost and find a whole new bit today. It was really pretty! My favourite kind of run, I love navigating myself around the countryside. It makes a run into an adventure.

DH is just making a coffee now, if anyone would like another.

@Champagneforeveryone Noooooooooo! Hope you all stay cough-free. Does your DS have to isolate now then?

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 13/10/2020 11:08

I have run out of coffee beans, I only had just enough for this morning's pot. I realised on Sunday and they dispatched more yesterday, but I don't whether it will get here today or not. I might have to go without coffee tomorrow.

This may be too much of a high-octane peril thriller for this thread.

BamboozledandBefuddled · 13/10/2020 11:09

@TenCornMaidens

I'm going to change my sheets.
I changed mine yesterday and am taking a break from ironing the washed ones. I love having a super king size bed and I love ironed bed linen but I do not love ironing.
ScaramoucheFandango · 13/10/2020 11:12

I made overnight bread rolls this morning and the house still smells of them.

School holidays here in Scotland and DH is back to working from home. It's nice to have a full house.

Champagneforeveryone · 13/10/2020 11:17

spudlet, he does but we don't unless he shows symptoms or gets a positive test. We will obviously be more careful about going out and about but will still be going to work.

Spudlet · 13/10/2020 11:23

@Champagneforeveryone Fingers crossed for no symptoms!

Specialgodson · 13/10/2020 12:22

The guinea pig eating spinach made me happy.

A wasp has flown in here. I was watching it for a bit and now it has gone.

Frownette · 13/10/2020 12:39

@sueelleker

Just made my Christmas puddings; the recipe I use makes 3 smallish ones (there's only 3 of us to eat it) so I make a batch and freeze the other 2 . I could halve the recipe, but I CBA. The first one is now in my Instant Pot.
Oh I was wondering about xmas puddings, I've never done them before. I usually hate fruit and alcohol combined. But I'll give it a bash this year. You just have to keep it marinated in brandy, right? Then it goes on it's happy little ways for months?

Then sort of...steam it? In a pan? I'll give it a whirl, anyway.

DressingGownofDoom · 13/10/2020 12:53

I've put up some Halloween decorations. A flickering lamp and some pumpkin lights. 🎃

TheOneWhoWalksInTheSun · 13/10/2020 13:02

Any recommendations for Christmas pudding recipes? I've never tried one before.

BillywigSting · 13/10/2020 13:19

I am once again in the coffee shop having a bite to eat and psyching myself up to do some food shopping. There is a baby screeching it's head off though so it's not as soothing as I hoped it would be. It's mother is at least making an effort to calm it though so I can't be cross. I was her once.

I saw a lovely (fake) fur lined leather look jacket in new look in the village the other day but they didn't have my size. The lovely girl said they are getting a delivery today so I'll have a wander down and see if they have it, and if they do, if it makes me look like a whale. I am short and fat so it's not a difficult thing for a warm coat to do. If it's there and I like it I'll use the last remnants of my birthday money to buy it and maybe a jumper and skirt or two

aceyace · 13/10/2020 13:33

I ordered an over the door coat hanger and Hermes has just delivered

Squirrel26 · 13/10/2020 13:43

I bought one of those in Sainsbury’s the other week, but my door seems to be too fat for it. I have left it hanging there insecurely while I wait for the problem to solve itself.

TenCornMaidens · 13/10/2020 14:13

I've been enjoying playing a very very soothing game on my phone called Terrarium. Recommended.

SpideryPlants · 13/10/2020 14:16

Just met DM for a walk. She had some mini Twirls on the car dashboard.

As I leaned in the window to shove my grubby hand in the bag, at that moment she pressed the automatic button to wind the window up, nearly garroting me in the process.

I managed to grab the window and let out a yelp (scream). I think she had a schadenfreude moment as she did that kind of snigger. I think I had a lucky escape.
