Curry I hope you do not mind?
I put the last message in, and didn't find a new thread. Which I found disquiting, so to calm my nerves here goes.

I’ve baked my cakes and now am sitting with my feet up, being soothed by the sound of the dishwasher swooshing away. It’s a very restful sound. It appears to be tipping it down, so unless it clears up in the next 20 minutes or so I guess I won’t be cycling to collect DS from school. Oh well...

Frownette · 13/10/2020 14:33

Found perfect present for cousin who lives abroad :)

Whenwillow · 13/10/2020 14:36

I broke a lace on my favourite comfortable shoes yesterday, and immediately ordered some new ones, and they've just been delivered.

forgetthehousework · 13/10/2020 14:41

We've dug an enormous root out of the garden, in the rain, and are now inside drinking tea.
We'll have to fill in the enormous hole where the root was, but I think that can wait until tomorrow.

If it continues raining perhaps you could just let the hole turn into an ornamental pond?
BillywigSting · 13/10/2020 14:57

Terrarium is a lovely mindless game. Almost meditative.

I have got all the shopping I need, just need to decide what to have for tea. It'll either be chicken and pepper skewers or chicken curry because there is chicken there that is getting perilously close to its use by date.

Need to go and pick up ds in a minute. Then need to run the hoover round (never did get around to it yesterday) and throw a load in the washing machine. It can go overnight and come out in the morning.

QuestionableMouse · 13/10/2020 14:59

I'm having a fight with my printer. It wants me to clean the ink cartridges only it won't complete a cleaning and I can do anything until it does (according to their agent who seemed to think I was an idiot and clearly wasn't listening to me.)

TenCornMaidens · 13/10/2020 15:06

@QuestionableMouse that does not sound dull and calm. I expect you are struggling to maintain your composure enough to remain on this thread. May I prescribe a small peep outside at something green and living.

KoalaRabbit · 13/10/2020 15:08

I've just had apple crumble and custard.

DS has changed the bathroom tap but thinks we still need a new seal. I love seals so I'm happy not sure what the cat will make of it though.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 13/10/2020 15:13

My coffee beans arrived, which is a relief. I have an unhealthy dependence on caffeine.

QuestionableMouse · 13/10/2020 15:20

Oh I've turned it off now and I'm ignoring it. Maybe if it thinks I don't need it, it'll behave 😂😂😂

forgetthehousework · 13/10/2020 15:21

Alas, @BlackAmericanoNoSugar, it was right next to the fence which needs replacing which is the only reason we went to the effort of digging it out, otherwise I'd just have cut it off at ground level. I quite like the idea of a pond though ...

BusyDreaming · 13/10/2020 15:28

Pukka teabag delivery this morning.
I’ve been conducting my own taste test on new flavours while working from home.

The elderberry and echinacea flavour is like a warm, comforting hug on a fairly bleak day.

BillywigSting · 13/10/2020 15:28

It's absolutely throwing down here and the rain is making the most lovely sound against the windows. It started just as I got home with ds.

I'm curled up with a coffee listening to it for a while before I do the rest of the chores.

I asked dp what he wanted for tea and he didn't reply so it's going to be chicken skewers. Cba fucking around with rice tonight.

Igotmylipstickon · 13/10/2020 15:36

I put some grey eye pencil on my lashes to see if it would work as mascara. Rubbed my eyes a few minutes ago and it's gone.

Bought insoles for my boots the other day and my feet are so much more comfy and warm now.

MissConductUS · 13/10/2020 16:19

The remnants of hurricane Delta are still with us, but it's calmed to light rain or drizzel. We really need the rain so I'm not bothered.

I've put in for the days I want off around Thanksgiving. DD is home alone today as DH and I both had to go in. She's working tonight so it'll just be me and DH for dinner. He'll probalby make grilled cheese sandwiches.

We've certainly done a job filling this thread up. I hope that @Prokupatuscrakedatus starts another one just before this fills up and posts the link here so that I don't lose it. Smile

TenCornMaidens · 13/10/2020 16:36

Freezer meals tonight.

EggyPegg · 13/10/2020 16:52

I have found my Kindle. It was zipped inside an inside pocket of a bag we took on holiday in August.

MissConductUS · 13/10/2020 16:55

It's Amazon Prime Day. I looked at a new kindle but my current one is just a year old, so can't be justified even at the sale price.

Are they doing Prime Day in the UK too?

SpideryPlants · 13/10/2020 16:55

Yes I bought my 3rd Alexa.

SpideryPlants · 13/10/2020 16:58

@BusyDreaming I am liking Rooibos green tea. Twinings have improved their flavours recently too. That Pukka one is one of my faves.

nancybotwinbloom · 13/10/2020 16:58

I got a text confirming my kitchen is being delivered in a few weeks.

Can we have another thread after this please.

I'm Not starting it as I have a special skill of killing threads.

EggyPegg · 13/10/2020 17:00

Also, I'm now hiding upstairs from my children as they are training to be gold medalists in the Olympic Bickering category. I was tidying the playroom, but it can stay as it is until one or both of them leave.

Also, is anyone else checking for an update on @Champagneforeveryone DDog1 bed?

Spudlet · 13/10/2020 17:02

DS has come home with his first phonics cards! He’s very taken with them. Unfortunately he has not come home with any instructions on what we are meant to do with them Confused

We have tried practicing writing the letters on the special whiteboard the school sent home before the summer holidays but he was having none of it. So we practiced making the sounds, then spotted the letters on a few pages of the book we read together 🤷‍♀️

This education business is a mystery to me Grin I mean, I have an education of my own, but how one helps the offspring to acquire one is a bit of a poser to me. It doesn’t help that all I remember about reception is getting into trouble for making a toy hammer out of some construction toy or another and waving it around too violently, then crying because I was in trouble and Christoper and Rebecca skipping around me pointing and laughing Confused

Deathraystare · 13/10/2020 17:11

As I leaned in the window to shove my grubby hand in the bag, at that moment she pressed the automatic button to wind the window up, nearly garroting me in the process.

Serves you right, greedy guts! Lesson learned! I once got my hand caught in a biscuit jar at the same time as my little brother. That was fun!
