OH has fell down the stairs

Just moved into our new house today and OH has just gone and fell down the stairs the ambulance has just taken him to hospital.

I've got a job interview tomorrow and everything is still in boxes.

How bad are broken ankles will he still be able to look after the kids while I go?

DD is 2 and DS is 3 they said it's looks broken he's going for a x-ray now. And no just the one ankle.

Well he won't be able to walk and will be in a lot of pain. He could need surgery. He might need to stay in. You'll have to follow up with the doctor to be sure. Hope he is ok.

Remote interview whilst looking after young kids isn't going to work. Unless a relative or friend can come and look after the kids you'll have to ask them very politely for a postponement.

What kind of job/sector is it? Bit unusual to interview on a Saturday.

He may need to go into theatre and you might need to pick him up tomorrow.

No he won't be able to look after the kids. It could be while before he can put weight on it, it will be in a cast or a boot, he will probably need crutches. He will need looking after himself, never mind wrangling two toddlers!
Sorry OP, it's really not what you wanted to hear, I know.
Can anyone help out? If not, you will need to contact the company and explain.

It's a supermarket job, I have two kids that are in bed and he couldn't stand up how else would i get him to the hospital?

DH broke his ankle, the day after he did it he could barely look after himself, no way he could have looked after 2 children

Ouch! It all depends, but perfectly possible he could be able to manage for an hour or so assuming there is a room you can safely shut the three of them in. Good luck.

Of course it's not odd to travel by ambulance with a broken foot. Was op supposed to carry him to the car in a fireman's lift whilst holding both toddlers in the other hand?

I had to change all my working hours for weeks when H did the same and DS was 2. It was incredibly hard work as I had to do a lot for him too. There's no way you can expect him to safely look after two young children on his own. Could someone else babysit while you're away?

Only the bus (off peak) would have been the acceptable mode of transport to A&E. Or he could have driven himself Hmm

Given the NHs advice for a broken leg:
Call 999 for an ambulance if the injury to the leg seems severe or you're not able to get to A&E quickly.

Calling an ambulance doesn't seem a problem...

Broken bones can need surgery or result in complications with circulation. They are not necessarily a straightforward injury that you can transport to hospital yourself, and can need quick medical attention in some cases.

OP, there is a good chance he won't be able to manage. I would try and find other help of you can.

A friend of ours broke his ankle and something went wrong and he lost two toes. Can't remember the details but had it been picked up earlier he would not have done so. Not saying this will happen to you OP as seems like he is in the right place and getting the help he needs - just saying please don't feel judged about calling an ambulance. Seems like a sensible thing to have done. I hope it works out for you and good luck with the job interview.
