Asking for a handhold - DH in ICU

DH was taken into hospital last night with breathing difficulties. It was pretty minor, the paramedics weren't even going to take him in but we insisted. He's now in an induced coma on a ventilator. He's had 2 negative Covid tests so they don't think it's that but they don't know what it is.

I'm falling apart. He's my whole life. We have a 2 year old who is a complete Daddy's girl. I need him so much. I can't even be with him now because of COVID.

Not sure I ever posted but I've been following and hoping for the best for you all right from the start. Hoping that this is just a blip and he'll be back with you in no time.

Ah, OP. I don't know anything about your DH's condition, but it seems to be expected that it will come and go like this? Good that he's being well looked after, but it must be very hard. Hope he's back with you soon.

It’s very difficult to get the right medication sorted, but hopefully he will be home soon. Keep strong for yourself and your little girl.

Thank you everyone he's home now and they don't seem too worried - they're considering adjusting his meds but no cause for immediate concern. Phew.

Phew, indeed! Take it easy. Extra biscuits all round today.

I can't believe I'm writing this. Mike died today. He went upstairs for a rest and they think he had a massive heart attack and died instantly. I found him when I went up to check on him. I did CPR and tried the defibrillator but it didn't work. It hasn't sunk in yet. I don't know how I'll go on.

Nothing I or anyone says will help but I wanted to say I'm so glad Mike came home again and it was abundantly clear that you had a wonderful relationship.

My own Dad died in similar circumstances 34 years ago so understand a little of the shock you are going through. X
