Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news THE SEQUEL

This is the one where the news remains dull, and all the irons you bought in the last thread have developed limescale.

I had a slice of toast and now I feel a bit sick. It must be because I am low carbing. The toast was worth it though,it was slightly cold and hard so the butter went on the way it used to in a 1990s B&B.

I ordered a wheelbarrow. It came today.

DH left the ironing board in the kitchen yesterday instead of putting it away. HRH Sodding Kitten has adopted it as a new scratching post. 🤬

I am still in PJs. I will have to shower in a while so I can take DS to the dentist.

Starisnotanumber · 02/09/2020 11:19

My broken glasses have been repaired and I have to go to opticians to pick them up.
I am managing fine with my other pair

forgetthehousework · 02/09/2020 11:21

DH swatted a wasp in the living room yesterday. The corpse is still on the windowsill as a dire warning to any others that get in ...

Redcrayons · 02/09/2020 11:27

I found my service log book. It was in the glove box.
I’m cheating a little bit here as this is relatively exciting as I’ve been looking for it for 5 months. Downsides, I’ve no excuse to not get my car serviced now.

Redcrayons · 02/09/2020 11:28

I broke the cafetiere and had to mop up coffee and broken glass

Replace it with an all metal one. Game changer, if you’re a clumsy oaf like me.

boatyardblues · 02/09/2020 11:36

But not a ceramic one, as you (I) can still manage to break one of those.

The tree outside our house is starting to drop its leaves, which heralds the sticky berries that stain our hall carpet.

I think I might have a scotch egg for lunch today.

FawnDrench · 02/09/2020 12:31

DH emptied the dishwasher before he went to work.

I've had a ham and mustard roll for lunch. The roll was very very fresh - big and white and soft and squidgy.

There are a lot of dozy wasps about this week.

WouldBeGood · 02/09/2020 12:43

I’ve had scrambled eggs on crumpet and salad with the addition of pre made crispy bacon bits. A revelation.

MutteringDarkly · 02/09/2020 12:47

We're going out for a walk later. I have put the slow cooker on so there should hopefully be a stew waiting when we come back.

Allington · 02/09/2020 12:52

Oooh, all metal cafetiere. That's WAAAAY too exciting for this thread. Although it reminds me, I meant to replace my travel mug/cafetiere which is plastic. Hmmmm…

Helocariad · 02/09/2020 12:54

I had scrambled egg on toast for lunch, made by my daughter. Added manchego and it tasted great. The postman hasn't been yet and I'm wondering if he CBA because it's tipping it down, or just didn't have any post for us today. Am expecting an online order to be delivered.

Sunbird24 · 02/09/2020 14:00

There are workmen on the roof terrace directly across from my window. So far they’ve spent more time chatting than working. I don’t mind as I’m WFH and it would be noisy if they actually did anything they’re supposed to be doing

Champagneforeveryone · 02/09/2020 14:03

I'm sat I my car while DS goes to 6th form enrolment.

He could do 4 A-Levels - he is not.

PotatoBasher · 02/09/2020 14:15

our local water company had to come into our back garden to access the sewer and reline the whole sewer.

They pulled up my plants and replanted them (Australia- sewers run through gardens- we are in strict lockdown so it has been the highlight of August)

Maxineputyourredshoeson · 02/09/2020 14:50

This actually might be enough to get me kicked off of this thread but here goes...

The FOS upheld my complaint against a guarantor loan company, they owe me over £10k Grin

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 02/09/2020 15:02

@Maxineputyourredshoeson
Great news

0blio · 02/09/2020 15:24

It's bin day tomorrow and I've signed up with the council to receive alerts to remind me which bin is going to be emptied.

I did some ironing today and read the Eufy thread on here which was nice.

Brilliant! But much, much too exciting.
Spudlet · 02/09/2020 15:45

I’ve altered a couple of dresses for my neighbour and sewn more bastarding name labels on. I’m getting to the stage where anything that sits still for too long is in serious danger of being name labelled. Up to and including DH.

Toying with the idea of making things to sell when DS goes to school - dribble bibs, little purses and things. Maybe dribble pads for baby slings. Perhaps memory bears. That sort of thing. I’m applying for jobs but what I do is a bit niche so it might take a while to find something - This might bring a bit of cash in while I look.

I thought you said you pulled up your pants Shock. Which after reading about the workmen visit was rather startling.

Oooooooo do you know if this is nation wide? Every week I have to check which bin it is. We have three bins and a box. I usually copy my neighbour who is never wrong but her dh has started doing it and he was one week Shock.
BillywigSting · 02/09/2020 15:56

I bought some coffee bags to take to work because the cheap instant they have is vile.

I sorted a bit more of the spare room and now have lots of recycling to take out but it's lashing down so it can wait.

Helocariad · 02/09/2020 16:03

I'm now pondering whether or not to buy more manchego. It may be my favourite cheese.

ladymary86 · 02/09/2020 16:03

I need to wash my hair tomorrow.

Wimbledon1983 · 02/09/2020 16:21

The kitchen sink still smells of eggs despite my liberal use of vinegar and baking soda as recommended by an internet cleaning blog
