I don’t buy fabric softener or washing liquid- liquid makes the machine smell after a while- it must leave a build up.

Ginfordinner · 17/08/2020 15:55

I stopped using fabric softener for a while, and our clothes and bedding felt horrible, so I am back to using it.

DeeTractor · 17/08/2020 17:21

Fabric softener is one of those weird "MN" things that all the bloodhounds here claim they can smell from 100 paces like scented sanitary pads (does anyone even use them?) or tuna sandwiches.

YgritteSnow · 17/08/2020 17:23

Tea or Coffee. We don't drink it. I was never given it as a child and never gave it to my kids.

yikesanotherbooboo · 17/08/2020 17:27

Preprepared foods eg ready meals, sauces in jars, frozen roast potatoes, frozen Yorkshire's, packets of stuffing or white sauce

Gravy granules
Sweet biscuits and cakes
Ready chopped carrots or mashed potatoes

Fabric conditioner
Wipes of any sort
Probably quite a lot more

Strugglingtodomybest · 17/08/2020 17:29

Surely it would be easier to list what you do buy? The list of what I don't buy is extremely long!

pastapestoparmesan · 17/08/2020 17:39

Fake meat or cheese

Indecision2020 · 17/08/2020 20:14

Yes and sweet corn? And what about chickpeas/kidney beans/broad beans? (I suppose not technically vegetables...)
vanillandhoney · 17/08/2020 20:20

Fabric softener
Fish
Margarine
Zoflora
Squash or cordial type drinks
Full-fat soft drinks
Ready meals

Moranne · 17/08/2020 20:33

I don’t go to the shelves/aisles stocking:

Baby products
Pet products
Sanitary products
Biscuits and sweets
Alcohol
Ready meals
Cereals
Milk

Moranne · 17/08/2020 20:34

Or tea and coffee, although DP does.

AuntyPasta · 17/08/2020 22:58

I buy tinned tomatoes, beans (because I’m too lazy to cook them from dried) and baked beans but no other tinned veg. Frozen sweet corn and peas are nicer than tinned (IMO).

AuntyPasta · 17/08/2020 23:02

I don’t buy any pet stuff from the supermarket either, even though I have a dog. None of the supermarkets stock good quality dog food (that I’ve found anyway) and they all sell utter shit like Bakers.

coffeerice · 18/08/2020 02:44

Tomatoes are a fruit. Beans are legumes.
Although both are used as a vegetable, they aren't.

HarrietM87 · 18/08/2020 07:37

Yes coffeeandrice I’m aware of that (as I said in my post) but ime most people refer to them as such, which is why I’m interested to know.

coffeerice · 18/08/2020 10:49

Actually, @HarrietM87, I was replying to @frumpety.
No need to take offense as I didn't mean any.
I never saw your message.

Namechange6005 · 18/08/2020 10:51

Kitchen roll

iwantmyownicecreamvan · 18/08/2020 18:45

So if I pour some white vinegar into the fabric conditioner compartment of my washer, it will stop DS's socks from being crunchy?

cicatrix1 · 18/08/2020 19:44

tins
Ready meals

Marg
