Phone call to DPs. DF is going back to his volunteering this week. I was worried they wouldn't let him as he's just come out of shielding & there were mutterings about not letting older volunteers come back.

He said that if he's going to be locked up again in the winter he wants to make the most of every bit of social interaction with real people he can get.

I have a slightly sore throat which is more than likely hayfever. Don't panic, will take antihistamine & carry on. Am now obsessively sniffing my coffee to make sure I can still smell. I never used to worry about minor ailments. I'd be annoyed about having to self-isolate, but more upset about my teens having to do it because of me. And their subsequent foul moods.

Is that the Broadbottom near Glossop? I know it. I also grew up not far from Pratt's Bottom. Neither live up to their silly names.

There is a street in a town near to us called ‘Butthole Lane’.

I used to walk up "butt hill" to work at my Saturday job as a teenager!

My parents live near Wetwang. Around our way we have delights such as Cockfield (there's even a bus goes there!) and busty Bank. Cockfield is near Bishop Auckland which has a Cockton Hill with a Tittybottle Park on it.

Sadly, our purveyor of horny melons is closed for refurbishment, at the moment. It's one of the few reasons I still had to go into town.

Butthole Lane is a winning address. Or do the locals pronounce it, "Buth-ooly"? There's places near us that local lad DH pronounces completely differently to incomers like me. No rude names though.

My favourite place name is Uncouth Road. It is rather uncouth being an unsurfaced highway leading down to a scrap yard. The locals call it ‘Un-cuth’.

I'm on holiday having flocked the family down to the south coast.

DC's are on washing up duty this week. After nearly 300 meals together since lockdown with precious few being comsumed out of the house and avoiding washing up, that's their job this week!
