The carbohydrate appreciation thread

I love pasta, and eat it several times a week. In fact, during the lockdown I've eaten even more pasta and bread than usual. I've still lost nearly a stone of weight.

I know different things work for different people, but it's the dogmatism I don't get. People here are obsessed with cutting carbs to the point where they can't see any other way.

Let's hear it for carbs.

'Twas delicious. Nothing beats freshly homemade meals. Don't tell the carb police but dd1 and I might have pizza again tonight. 😱Periods are due and carbs help. I have stopped craving chocolate except for rare occasions since doing 16:8 and losing the Lockdown lard despite eating lots of carbs.

@Leflic

I just did a thread on my love of sourdough rye bread. A soft Chelsea bun and a big bag on onion ring crisps are also contenders. But carb calories go straight to the area under my bust. Not a good look.
Please would you post the link re your sourdough rye love? I LOVE rye bread. The smell, firm texture and nuttiness of it - buttered right to the edges straight from the toaster, a slice of mature cheddar or a good peanut butter (without the butter). Good with anything actually.

Having said that, I've just had brunch. A lovely warm ciabatta roll with butter, crispy bacon, two scrambled eggs and fruit followed by a LARGE cup of tea.

I'm already planning of my afternoon snack which is centred around a toasted Welsh cake. Mmmmmm! 😋

Sadly though I love the thought of bagels they don't like me as they just sit like stones inside me indigestibly.. 🤢
