Elle DeGeneres - the backlash

They say James Corden is the favourite to step in to her shoes. I always liked her if I ever caught the show. The A listers seemed to want to be on the show and now there seems to be a backlash. I remember the DV rumours on here. If its all behind the scenes with the staff how much power did she have over their behaviours, what if she never even knew? It seems a shame when she went through all that after coming out publicly and how no one in tv would touch her. Its sad really.

I've always liked her but she has also always had an edge that I can't put my finger on. Could just be a powerful woman and people react badly to those sadly. James Corden though....can't STAND the man.

Me neither. When you think about it though, Portia went underground didnt she after they got married. Maybe she is quite controlling. She seemed popular with the A listers not that it means anything these days! I always liked her.

Tbh from what I’ve seen of JC, and this is just my personal perception, unless he has been coached really well, I would expect to hear the same sort of complaints coming out about him as have come out about EDG.

I've never seen the hype about Ellen, to be honest. Never found her even slightly amusing.

The rumours of her "no one can make eye contact" nonsense have been around for years. And there were the staffers saying that everyday she would pick someone to be horrible to and you just went with it because she would pick someone else the following day.
It seemed like the main group were fine, but interns and lower staffers all has those stories. Workplace bullying is becoming less acceptable now, but there should be a full investigation into it. She shouldnt be tried in the media.

Look at The Expanse and the Cas Anvar allegations. The production company hired an investigative firm as soon as they heard the rumours, thaler investigative company have been interviewing all the women who came forward. The cast and writers havent been public about the situation either than issuing statements of support for those coming forward and stating that there is an investigation into it.
Nothing has been dismissed but they arent putting anything out until the full investigation has been conducted.

Ellen, and the producers who have been accused, deserve a full and independent investigation with the findings and evidence being published once it's been collated and a conclusion reached.

I used to really like her..but i wouldn’t be shocked to find she was controlling etc. I also did used to find it fake when all her guests used to stop halfway through interviews to gush about her. It came out in reports that producers told them to do it.
Agree with others tho..JC would be even worse!

I used to work in a job that involved meeting celebrities. What I often found was that their "people' would set rules beforehand like not to ask them about certain things or greet them in a certain way. Invariably the celebrity would be totally relaxed and open so I always assumed the ridiculous rules came just from the entourage and don't believe stories about celebrity diva behaviour

Mmm I don’t think this will help her as the complaints are firm those who have worked for her or production teams not those she gets paid ludicrous amounts interview

we all like a diva story it’s just is more interesting than oh she was quite sweet

Weren't they just easy and relaxed because they knew their "people" had set the boundaries beforehand so they wouldn't have to? Don't believe for a second it wasn't on their instructions.

I work in the entertainment industry.

Both she and JC have been well-known a massive arseholes for years. She’s a bully and honestly a sadist, he’s a tantrum-throwing egomaniacal diva.

During segments on the shower where they’d surprise members of the public she seemed so disgusted with having to speak to/deal with ordinary people. Put me off watching her to be honest and made me wonder if she was as nice as people lauded her to be.

It was aired on national TV as the woman sat in the audience with a live close up of her mortified face. Ellen shamed her in front of everyone in a way that has really stayed with me.

The woman was asked for an explanation and said "I took one for my sister who couldn't come today". Ellen looked like a psychopathic kitten and said with patronising sweetness,"Well you know a lot of people have sisters who couldn't be here today..(more drawn out moralising)...learn to be a better person."

I thought she seemed massively callous and entitled to set someone up in that way for the good of the nation's moral values. It's not normal. Her ego is odd.

Ellen has always grated on me with her hyper-cheesy bopping and popping dancing around the “easy crowd” starry-eyed audience. Her mega watt grin never quite reaches the eyes. She creeps me out tbh.
