Colour catchers. No need to be as picky with separating colours when doing the laundry.

Thanks, Enko! They're not what I was expecting at all, but they do look good for sorting craft stuff. I'll have to get my mum to bring me one home. Excellent.

BitOfFun · 03/08/2020 23:20

Oh, and EasilyDelighted! Great pic ,thanks.

A bottle of Oven Mate - miracle cleaner and cleans the glass on the wood burner too.

Deadringer · 03/08/2020 23:20

Nitpick i don't use colour catchers and my washing never runs, i thought that was a thing of the past?

Geekster1963 · 03/08/2020 23:21

Cordless vacuum

I don't understand the point of the toaster tongs? We were bought some but I don't know why I would need them?
I once went into the kitchen to find dd using two metal forks to remove a crumpet from the toaster. We now have wooden tongs Shock

Coloured tabs for the end of keys so you can tell at a glance which key you need (you have to remember what the colours stand for though).

Lindy2 · 03/08/2020 23:30

I used to sell Kleeneze products. One of the best sellers was the magic defrost tray so I decided to buy one myself. It's a small ceramic tray that magically defrost whatever you put on it in super quick time.
It's really good. I'm useless at remembering to defrost things that I need to cook for dinner and the defrost tray has saved the day quite a few times.

margotsdevil · 03/08/2020 23:38

For the people who don't get the point of colour catchers - once you've used them and seen the colour they turn from your (sorted) washing, you'll never go back!

Puppermint · 03/08/2020 23:44

Love colour catchers. Great for those bloody annoying tops DH and DS always seem to buy with bright colours and white trimmed collars or sleeves. Keeps the whites, err, white!

For me it’s my Aeropress. As the only coffee drinker in the house I can still have a proper cup without the faff or waste of my cafetière. I love it and use it every day now I’m working from home.

Shizzlestix · 03/08/2020 23:56

Cordless vacuum

Yes, yes, I use it lots, far more than the huge cumbersome cord one, although the big one is far more powerful, doesn’t run out of charge and has a much bigger capacity for rubbish.

My Lidl bought electric egg boiler. It cooks them perfectly every time. It can cook up to 8 eggs at once and you can set it to do runny through to hard boiled. It also has a keep warm function as well. I love boiled eggs! Grin

Alexa shopping list. Our Alexa is in the kitchen - whenever someone notices we've run out of something we say "Alexa add rice (or whatever) to the shopping list"

The app is on my phone so if I go shopping it's there or there's an option to WhatsApp it if dp goes.

Notfeelinggreattoday · 04/08/2020 00:04

Op i love colour catchers too but last week my machine showed an error with emptying when i opened filter 2 colour catchers in there !!! Since mentioning it several others have said same thing has haopened , how i dont know , so i always check the catcher is in the wash when i take it out now !

Bridecilla · 04/08/2020 00:07

Argh - I remember a character in Neighbours dying doing that when I was in my teens. I begged my mam to get rid of the toaster 🤣

I bought 1 last week, I've used it every day desperate for 2 runny eggs but they're hard ever time no matter how far left I put the dial thingy :(

Walking. After putting on weight during lockdown a friend suggested we go on walks...I agreed oblivious to the fact that these walks would be uphill and I’d be sweating and aching all over. But I absolutely loved it! I really enjoy it and actually make time to do it and switch off from the world- it’s the most childfree time I’ve had in 7 years! So boring but life changing for me.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 04/08/2020 00:16

My Oxo good grips salad spinner. I use it daily as I wash all salad, fruit and veg religiously. It has a little brake and also you can lock the plungy thing down so that the top is flat and you can store it in the fridge.

Also, I'm totally in love with my new fridge freezer which is streets ahead better than any I've ever owned before. It's not a "little" thing but I appreciate it every day.

JennyWr3n · 04/08/2020 00:44

Don't understand toaster tongs? My toaster just pops the toast up, no need to retrieve with tongs ?

ItsAlwaysSunnyOnMN · 04/08/2020 00:50

Frozen onions, garlic, cheese sauce, chopped chillies, herbs (Tesco’s the best add amazing flavour to dishes), Thai mix, butternut squash I’m sure can add to my frozen list

Soap I realise now that all these shower gels didn’t clean me properly

My chair and sofa covers. They looked old and tired and can’t afford new ones, they have completely transformed my living room

ItsAlwaysSunnyOnMN · 04/08/2020 00:54

Agree with colour catches they are a great little invention

psychomath · 04/08/2020 00:59

Surely it's okay to stick a metal knife into the toaster once it's popped? At that point it's off, isn't it? Or have I been unwittingly taking my life into my hands every time I toast a bagel? Confused
