Have you done drugs??

Went out for a few drinks with work friends tonight and the conversation turned to drugs. I was the only one who’d never done any, not even a joint. The others have all done pretty much everything- weed, coke, Es, speed, MDMA, even heroin in one case.

I’m not virulently anti drugs, they just never crossed my path growing up and now I’m middle aged with kids and get quite excited when I’ve got cause to crack open the Solpadeine Grin but by the end of the conversation I felt practically Armish!

Am I the only one? Please say not...

OP you're not alone. I've never done any either but have friends who did when we were in Sixth Form and an ex who smoked weed, did MDMA etc. Weirdly had an amazing Uni experience, lots of partying etc, but never came across any drugs... Just too scared of the negatives to even contemplate them!

Yes back in my teen years and twenties. Weed, coke, pills etc. No crack or heroin, too addictive. Never regularly, just a once every 6 months thing.
Havent touched anything in 10 years though and always when out with friends, never really got into it.

Speed, pills/MDMA powder, coke, acid and weed.

Basically lost a decade in a drug fuelled haze. And (and I know this is going to be a very unpopular comment) I had a bloody brilliant time.

I was also terrified of drugs as a child/ teenager.
Tried cannabis in my early twenties and cocaine in my late twenties.
Both were ok, but I felt very ‘naughty’ taking them, so only tried them a handful of times 😂.
I’d probably do cocaine every few years, I quite enjoyed the feeling.

Yes, in my misspent youth I took most things: weed, E, speed, LSD, coke, poppers; but never crack or heroin, I have standards you know?

Nowadays I am a teetotal middle aged accountant who drinks peppermint tea and does yoga. Life comes at you fast.

Weed a few times, which I liked. Poppers once and they gave me a splitting headache. Never fancied trying anything else though, hallucinogenics especially really scare me.

I smoked half a joint once at a nightclub and got thrown out. I didn't know it was weed - I didn't smoke (not even fags) but my friend passed it me and I was really drunk so I thought it was just a rollie. Couldn't understand why the bouncers kicked me out on my own and wouldn't let me tell my friend, and when I got home and was ill for two days i was convinced my drink had been spiked. My friend later told me it was weed and hadn't realised I didn't know Blush That was in my 20s.

Only other drugs have been prescription - IV morphine after surgery and codeine for my back.

Never tried anything as like the OP, they never crossed my path. None of my friends at school/college did any kind of drugs either.
We were shown the Leah Betts video in class and I was horrified by it.

I was once roofied on a night out and it was horrible, I hated that I was totally out of control and anything could have happened to me.
I've had oramorph a few times in hospital and was properly off my tits Blush

Never.

I drink.

I’ve never smoked or had any form of recreational drug.

I remember being at at mums night out when DD was a toddler and I was the only one who not only had never had drugs but didn’t use them regularly even then. I was shocked and felt very “square”.

I was offered the opportunity to “give it a go” but politely refused.

I had a hash muffin in Amsterdam & lost 9 hours of my life. I thought people were trying to whisper to me & had to hold on to a display of fridge magnets in a shop to stop myself falling off the world.

Drugs are not for me.

Yes - started with weed, then coke, then pills (those were the best days) then a mixture of lots of things and a phase of a lot of ketamine. Acid, mushrooms (the best drug by far). Things I can't remember the name of. No smack or crack.

Yes. Lots.

I started early in school and continued until out of uni. But still managed a good degree, good career etc and bought a house at 23.

I loved the rave days and the festivals. How I’m not dead though...not from the drugs but the dubious things I did. The 90’s were great fun Wink

My best mate from those days has a very important job which involves drug rehab and yet she still likes a dabble now in her 40’s! I’ve been very very good now though for 20 years.

No coke, no heroin (scares the shit out of me),no acid.. Smoked weed (did nothing for me) Took Es had a bad one, awake all night, all day, teeth chattering, eyes like saucers.. Never did anything again.. Always wanted that hedonistic lifestyle, drugs, sex etc.. We can all dream

Yep, tried most things at some point, ecstasy was my fave. Literally some of the best nights of my life.

Yes, I was a clubber back in the 90s, so mainly ecstasy (proper stuff), bit of speed and I was a bit into cocaine in the 2000s, but that stuff just makes you a dick. Smoked a bit of weed, but wasn't my vibe.

I'm quite strait laced now, you'd never know. I'm glad I did it, but I'm glad I don't do it any more!

Yes. Smoked a lot of weed for a lot of years (could roll brilliant joints, really perfect). When I wasn't stoned it was because I was busy being a 90s cheesy quaver.

I did stop it all at 30 and stopped drinking at 33 when I realised I was on a fast track to alcoholism and likely to end up like my Dad.

My last addiction was to codeine which went on for 8ish years. I am now as pure as the driven snow and pretty fucking angelic.

No, I’ve never touched them. Some of my friends did when we were at college but by then I’d already seen how much damage they could cause to never want be involved myself.

I'm 30 and I reckon the majority of people I know have done drugs or still actively do them. I went through a few years of quite heavy recreational cocaine use but i can't think of anything worse than the comedown now. When I was younger I'd take anything... weed, E, ketamine, MDMA, speed - the works. I'd never judge anyone, it can be safe and managed like alcohol if you want it to be.
