To feel like Princess Beatrice has played a blinder!!!

She has managed to make be feel all emotional seeing her in the Queen’s dress and tiara. Didn’t think any Royal bride could top Kate but think Beatrice might have managed it by going ultra low-key.

The dress she wore WAS the original dress.

@VanCleefArpels

Not sure why people are indicating this may not have been the “original” dress - the wedding was originally planned for only a couple of months ago so I’m sure this was her choice from the beginning. I’d love to see if Eugenie was a bridesmaid!

Not necessarily, I would guess that covid could have interfered with dress fittings if the dress was being made for her by a designer. Plus if it was intended for a 'Royal Wedding' may not really have been right for a more intimate ceremony set in a different place

One of the queens gowns altered by trusted palace staff would have been easier to manage in current circumstances

But aren't we all supposed be supporting businesses? Surely she should have given the business to a British designer Wink

@Pobblebonk

Good for them for having natural decorations around the door that others will be able to continue to enjoy.

Don't know about you, but I doubt I would be welcomed if I rocked up at the Andrew Fergie private love nest estate and asked for a quick shufty at their private chapel to see the flowers.

I just hope they have a compost heap to recycle them on, once all the florists wire has been removed.

I think it would have been a bit odd if MM had worn her GMIL's old frock. Surely these things, even in ordinary families, go through the maternal line.

@FattyBoom the Queen’s dress was altered for Bea - addition of puff sleeves and an extra length inserted as HM is tiny. I would have thought, also, that the bust was taken in for Bea as HM is well endowed in that area. The use of HM’s tiara, arguable the best in the collection, indicates to me that this was what was intended all along. A diamanté encrusted gown is not what most would chose for a very low key private wedding!

Why on earth are people using this as a way to get a not-so-sly kick in at Meghan?

Desperation was settling in tho. Sister got married first with a big look at me wedding. Covid and her father scuppered that. Even has to leave her father out and have 2 sets of pics. Fergie must be desperate to see the palazzo her daughter will get. And all the time Ghislaine is in the background. Thanks dad.

And you know that how exactly....? They've released 2 photos.

I think the wedding was low key because first of all we are in the middle of a global pandemic and secondly with all the controversy surrounding Prince Andrew it wouldn't really be appropriate to have a lavish event with lots of celebrities would it ,nothing to.do with her wanting to keep it just family etc,and why do people still feel the need to make bitchy comments about Meghan?Hmm

I am no fan of Meghan but why do people have to use every opportunity to have a go at her? Why does one wedding and bride have to be compared to another ?
Can't lots of weddings be beautiful?
I have the constant comparison culture we live in . It destroys people's mental health and tears lives apart.

I couldn't help but think of Meghan. Getting the queen's dress and tiara is a great way to get revenge for:

a, the alleged drama over MMs tiara

b, taking attention away from Eugenie's wedding with the pregnancy speculation
c, naming and embarrassing B&E in legal documents
This is a much nicer wedding and Beatrice is clearly a favourite. Its also a nod to her being a 'blood' royal'

Wow. Yeh, I’m sure that ‘revenge’ was at the forefront of her mind when choosing the dress and tiara for her wedding. FFS.

Why are people thinking that the dress might not have been the original choice?

Either way, she looks great.

I do wonder where the line should be drawn re Royal weddings being televised & a carriage ride.

You really think they only had 2 photos taken? Grin

There will be plenty of family wedding photos including Andrew and Sarah.

As well as private, I definitely think it was secret..as in no one in the media was banging on about it for months unTIL by the time we got to the big day we’d had enough already.

I like the fact that it was small and intimate and I honestly think this is how it should be..let’s have no more circus weddings for minor royals that end up with the tax payers having to stump up for the shed loads of security needed to keep the a-z listers safe.

I’m sure this wedding was far more meaningful than one with all the cameras of the world on her.

Yes, she played a blinder and I hope she doesn’t upstage it by doing it all again.
Lucky girl..I hope the groom is as nice as he looks.

Hopefully Beatrice is more sensible than what you give her credit for, and was more interested in what she wore for the right reasons, and not for revenge, which is no way to start a marriage. That is a horrible thing to think. It says a lot about you.

I loved her vintage dress, tiara and short veil, and thought she looked beautiful.

It must have been a source of great joy to Her Majesty to have her granddaughter wear them.

She looks so happy, I think she looks stunning, the dress, tiara and flowers are all timelessly beautiful. Tasteful, classy, pretty, and utterly charming, it wouldn't surprise me if the Queen had more input on this wedding than others (the Queen has exquisite taste imo). I love that she wore vintage (and vintage her majesty at that!), the biggest cost would have been the flowers?

Not at all what I was expecting, but yes she has indeed played a blinder, with the overall look, no cost to the tax payer, and no photos realeased of her parents (did they attend the service?). I'm not a royalist by any means but I do think credit should be given were it's due, and this is a PR win.

I quite agree and can hardly believe what I read there! Revenge indeed, how ridiculous. There was no drama over a tiara and Meghan didn't 'announce' her pregnancy to 'outshine' Eugenie in any way. Beatrice seems like a really nice young woman and above all that sort of thing anyway.
