To feel like Princess Beatrice has played a blinder!!!

She has managed to make be feel all emotional seeing her in the Queen’s dress and tiara. Didn’t think any Royal bride could top Kate but think Beatrice might have managed it by going ultra low-key.

@SarahAndQuack

Confused

The idea it's 'granny's old party dress' is incredibly mawkish.

The poor woman wanted to be private. Can't you leave her alone?

Says you who opens and posts on a thread about it!

The dress is stunning in fact out of all royal dresses here and Eugenies have been my faves. Meghans was a bit meh. Her evening one was gorgeous though.

Was the film about Queen Victoria with Emily Blunt?

Absolutely perfect in every detail. Hats off to her for getting it absolutely right in every respect. The look on her grandparents’ faces is so full of love and pride.

Its quite sad in a way (for her) she hasn't been able to release a photo with her parents. I'm glad they got married, i wondered if it would ever happen once Andrew hit the papers.

Just love the picture of the queen and Prince Philip grinning. Lovely.

It looks like the sleeves were added.
‘Beatrice wore a vintage dress by Norman Hartnell, on loan from the Queen. The dress is made from Peau De Soie taffeta in shades of ivory, trimmed with ivory Duchess satin, with organza sleeves. It is encrusted with diamanté and has a geometric checkered bodice. It was remodelled and fitted by Her Majesty's dresser Angela Kelly and loyal dressmaker Stewart Parvin.‘

And I like the e e cummings poem they chose, I carry your heart with me.

I think the sleeves would have been added for the church.

I love that she got the tiara that the queen wore at her own wedding. Recognition for what a raw deal she's had. It's a loving gesture from a grandma rather than The Queen.

I was wondering if she’s pregnant and the original dress made it a bit obvious!

I reckon she's up the duff too!

Sad her grandparents couldn't stand beside her though. She looks beautiful and very happy and her new husband is beaming for a change!

I think it was genius to have a quiet ceremony under cover of Covid, neatly sidestepping the shitshow circus it would be for her with the media and her parents in attendance at any other time.

Very well played.

Yeah, the reigning monarch's wedding dress is the very definition of 'low key' Hmm

I hope she had a lovely day and that they will be happy together. Her wedding took place in very challenging circumstances.

I'm glad she went ahead with it and didn't let her disgraced father ruin her happiness. She looks lovely, and has shown that a corona virus-impacted wedding can still be joyful.

Why would HMQs dress have been her original choice?

TheNewLook · 19/07/2020 00:57

I think all the “bless her, she’s not one for a fuss” is a tad misplaced. She was fully intending on a large wedding but her plans were scuppered by Covid.

I’d bet my house there will be a big reception at a later date.

Very pretty occasion but the looks of it. Shame to have only 20 people there - I wonder who she was peeping round the door at? If the 20 guests were still inside?

The small, private wedding was the perfect response to the pandemic and the PA crisis.
It was inspired to wear Granny's tiara and a vintage dress, and hold back the photos. Lots of good decisions.

It wasn’t the Queen’s wedding dress it was an evening dress the Queen had worn in the 60’s.

I hope he's nice, he's quite a reserved character by the looks of it so hard to read his personality, do we know anything about him?
