@BarkandCheese you are onto something there! Get your plexiglass, remote candle device on Dragon's Den!

Will need a catchier name for it but I'm sure there will be a market.

Orangeblossom78 · 11/07/2020 16:14

I have just seen a strange site. The open - top "City Sightseeing" buses are back on, and with masked tourists on board having tours.

It came round the bend when I was out on my way to the botanical gardens this afternoon.

The little shops have bunting out and doing a good trade with tables outside which is nice and the little restaurant nearby also.

Orangeblossom78 · 11/07/2020 16:14

sight, sorry

Orangeblossom78 · 11/07/2020 16:19

Yes i think it was that programme on Radio 4. i guess they choose extremes. There was one guy today saying he thought masks were just a sign of weakness and fear, and another saying we need a climate of fear. Another saying they don't like going out because of others fear, rather than fear of the virus.

Another was saying Rishi's eating out plan would kill people and should have been started at least a year later, when the virus would be totally gone.

Quite interesting hearing the BBC woman trying to reply etc.

The Safety Blow?

@NoisyBrain There is a thread by someone asking if she should report a barber that wasnt using PPE. After she got her DS hair cut of course.

Stinks of "well i got mine"

Sallycinnamum · 11/07/2020 16:52

I honestly MN has gone stark raving mad! The birthday cake thread is absolutely bonkers.

I see the second wavers are out in force today with yet another thread announcing the end is nigh.

Demand on local police Facebook page for the police to employ Mask Wardens to patrol shops 😂😂

Mascotte · 11/07/2020 16:58

Thanks, @LethargicLumpOfLockdownLard. My boy is the same age and would love to do that. I might enquire locally

The police didn’t even come out during an armed robbery of a jewellers 1 mile down the road from me. I’d love to know how police are going to have the time for face mask patrol.
HeIenaDove · 11/07/2020 17:03

They took 3 hours to come out to our estate for a domestic abuse murder.

I think there will be very awkward questions asked of them if they start mask patrolling.

HeIenaDove · 11/07/2020 17:05

Speaking of awkward questions....................how come women cant get a facial wax but men can have a beard trim/shave at the barbers.

The Safety Blow
I like it.
With the strapline, "Always blow responsibly."

Hello.
My mum is 74 and has copd. She stayed at home, alone, for 13 weeks.
Her mobility has declined. Her MH is low.
She did not receive an nhs letter, however!
Now that Johnson is wearing a mask I'm assuming that they will become mandatory in shop etc?
Sje has only just started going out again.
She cannot wear a mask. She can't breathe.
I've ordered her a hidden disabilities lanyard and badge but if she is challenged she won't leave the house again.
I'm so pissed off.
Sorry.
Just needed a vent.

TheOrchidKiller · 11/07/2020 17:09

Re police & mask enforcement : our local constabulary said they had more important things to do than enforce mask wearing on public transport.

This was after complaints that tram drivers were spotted not wearing masks. Tram drivers are sealed into their own cabins for their shifts & have no face-to-face contact with passengers.

KaronAVyrus · 11/07/2020 17:09

Christ - now there is someone who wants everyone to wear a face mask whenever they leave the house. I went for a 5 mile walk in the countryside last week and didn’t see a soul - why on earth would I have worn a face mask?

Shesingsshangrila · 11/07/2020 17:09

Has anyone noticed 'mask' becoming a verb on here? Seen posts today with "I mask if I'm going to the shops" or "I'll mask as soon as I leave the house"...

HeIenaDove · 11/07/2020 17:11

And im not the only one whos noticed?

Hmmm is that eyebrow threading for men in a barbers going on in the background. Beard trimming for gentlemen fine, but chin waxing for ladies with PCOS not. And therapists doing eyebrows on ladies stand behind the customer, not in front. #ditchthedoublestandards

@skeptile

TuckMyWin 60 million pounds in damages was also paid out to adult victims of that swine flu vaccine. I watched an interview with Bill Gates where he said governments must indemnify covid vaccine manufacturers (I was amazed - I thought he would say that given it would be widely distributed among all age groups, proof of safety and efficacy must be paramount. He instead said indemnity of manufacturers was paramount.)
A friend of mine has a child damaged by the swine flu injection. I asked her if she'd have it and she said no, and her child isn't having it either.

YES! Dared to read some of the mask stuff on AIBU (keep away, Orchid!) Not sure what annoyed me most, the lack of compassion or the turning of a noun into a verb.

I mask
You mask
We mask
They mask
He/ She/It masks.
Grrrrr.

Did she Alison Hammond on This Morning talking about this Apparently when this was raised in the House of Commons they all laughed Alison pointed out - A. This is people’s livelihoods, it’s not a game B. She has a horrific beard and tache and it helps her mental health to deal with it.
