How many unread emails have you got in your inbox?

A mysterious maverick known only as “Joey M.”, from Rhode Island, has managed to amass 4,294,967,256 unread emails in his inbox. He is the current world record holder for most unread emails

I thought I was bad with 1,466 but the above makes me feel much better about it. Seriously, what are the chances of one of them being from a solicitor about some unknown aunt leaving me a million pounds?

Most are from Debenhams offering me 30% off in their never ending sale.

I could just ditch them all in one go couldn't I?

None. I have to keep on top for work/business mail so it just never happens. Plus, I can't stand little red notification dots on my screen.

2000+ in my main work email, I delete these after a year as the important ones are filed away as they come in

I couldn't cope with thousands, it would drive me mad!

Its mostly emails from companies I bought something from once upon a time.
I also have a gmail account which automatically takes away any of these 'promotion' emails from my inbox. It's much easier to manage and I use this as much as possible now.

All those of you with thousands, you are joking right? Is this some joke I'm missing? I don't get it (sorry)

None. Respond, move to folder or delete as soon as possible. That includes my work email as well.

@Evelefteden I checked. It appears my last clear out was quite a success. Only 112,774 now

I keep work up to date by the hour - personal - cba frankly - pick up the ones I'm expecting, ignore the rest - anyone who knows me well knows not to bother with personal email - I'm far more reachable on WhatsApp!

I don’t know how to delete them in big batches on my iPad so I’ve got about 40k unread emails.

@Ghostlyglow no, I really do have thousands of unread emails. It's when loads ping through at once and I never get round to clearing them. I check the important ones, bank / shopping confirmations etc, but the rest get overlooked.

Wow I thought 12,000 was bad. It give me the itch. But then I think about having to go back and go through one by one to see if it’s relevant or not to delete and I just can’t. Agh.

What is the problem with having loads of undeleted emails? Getting rid of them helps save the planet in some way doesn't it?
