What is the best or most original name you have known for a family pet or other animal?

I used to know a yellow Labrador called Briggs. Admittedly, that was the name on the tag on his collar so was most likely the name of his family. But it seemed to suit him ( as far as I was concerned) so he was always Briggs to me, whatever his actual name may have been. If I ever have a male yellow Labrador, he will be called Briggs.

There's a YouTuber who has two cats named Beaver and Growler, which I think is pretty funny!

Rigsby's cat (Rising Damp) was called Vienna. A fine name.

I knew someone who had Roger the Dog

Our lovely tortie girls are called Daphne and Velma. Suits them beautifully.

A Siamese cat called Su Ming, because she was always assuming some food was due.

Was the IAMS cat a Siamese or Burmese? Or something else altogether? He was a very handsome pussycat.

Growing up on a farm, the domestic cats and dogs had regular names, some of our special livestock were named.
Jelly - a breeding cow
Button - a calf who was super tiny when he came to us.
Jean - the abandoned lamb who we hand reared and took to the seaside for the day as she still needed a bottle
Prue - the goat - she was good at pruning. All had lovely lives and left us with happy memories of childhood

When I take my April for a walk we often bump into another Beagle called Bagle the Beagle😂

I met a bulldog called Brenda this week 😁

We had a cat called Mazola (spoonerism of cooking fat, fucking cat).
Her kittens therefore got called Trex, Flora and Crispen (as in Crisp'n'Dry).

Oh and a guinea pig called Immy. She was called Timmy up to the point she got pregnant....

We had a black lab in the 70’s called Jason. No idea why.

I used to work in a cattery and a lady used to bring in her 3 cats named Brixton, Stockwell and Peckham.

We had a couple of quails we called Gordon and Freda after my scary aunt and uncle!
