I used to know a yellow Labrador called Briggs. Admittedly, that was the name on the tag on his collar so was most likely the name of his family. But it seemed to suit him ( as far as I was concerned) so he was always Briggs to me, whatever his actual name may have been. If I ever have a male yellow Labrador, he will be called Briggs.

We always pronounce the second with the sound from “gnocchi”. Grin

we have neighbours who have the most adorable little dogs. They are like this

Their real names are something like Fluffy wuffy and Buzzy boss (or something) but we call them 'Grip and Fang'. And we call their very lovely owners Mr and Mrs Grip and Fang.

Little chef was my Bengal cat. Sadly not with us anymore but she spent so much time in the kitchen on the scrounge for food it was totally apt.
I've got another big black cat called Smaug. Always loved Tolkien.

Previous cat was Lucia from the Benson novels and a proper little princess she was too!

The current one (male) is jet black and is rather predictably Lucifer. We were given him as a girl - Lucy!

@Mrsjayy

I follow a primate sanctuary on Facebook they have orangutans called Christopher and Sandra ! people names are the best.
I follow this sanctuary too, Christopher is marvellous isn't he! Another one I follow has orangs called Nigel and Anna Friel - I think Ms. Friel gave them a particularly generous donation.

I'd love it if there was a Merino sheep named Jose.

Our friend’s cat is called Lord Moxford of Cheddarfield, or Moxy for short. He’s a very grumpy bruiser of a cat but turns into a total softie for their youngest.
