Sorry it’s a bit of a lame title.

I know what he means seeing people in cars, people chatting in supermarket car park is so reassuringly normal...

BogRollBOGOF · 04/07/2020 19:31

Mmm. Baby smell Grin
It is a hairy, skin smell, but nice and babyish.

Second playground done. Scooted off to a rec with DS2 from the big park and DS1 and DH drove round to meet us. Quite a nice route, I'll have to play with that on a run.

Willow2017 · 04/07/2020 19:32

WTF?
Just read someone not planning on going to pub until 2021!

Well work was interesting! Trying to remember not to use disposable cups now, working with a stupid visor on, every time I moved it after serving a customer it was moving my stupid hat around! Cue hat falling on floor, visor annoying me, me swearing under my breath.
Lots more dishes and cleaning to do. Had a chat with one customer about how absurd it as that yesterday I could serve them coffee and pastries or hot food without a visor but today its compulsory! They thought it was batshit as I do. Oh and its ok for us to give them wooden sticks to stir their takeaway but not for them to take one themselves nor sugar, sauce, napkins etc. Thankfully it wasnt as busy as it had been this morning, I would have been in a tizz Grin

Love the baby smell too, long time since I held a baby though.

Must look up that NHS video my back is terrible just now (as are my shoulders)

Thankfully no wankers with signs on the bridge at the border when I came home today, maybe they are just fair weather wankers?

RubberDinghyRapids · 04/07/2020 19:34

Ha ha! You've all just reminded me of introducing DD to the family when she was about three days old. BIL, who is a massive bloke and v. deep voiced, but very family orientated, walked over and very politely said "can I sniff your baby?" 😂😂😂

BogRollBOGOF · 04/07/2020 19:35

At the start of lockdown, someone in my counrty made it their mission to get around as many bridges as possible and put positive mental health messages on them to try and dissuade anyone struggling with very dark thoughts.

One of the kindest sentiments I've seen out of this.

RubberDinghyRapids · 04/07/2020 19:35

Oh and I've just been de-cluttering the hallway and discovered the adult education centre brochure.... they have BSL courses.... wonder if they'll still be running them Smile

trappedsincesundaymorn · 04/07/2020 19:37

DD prefers baby animals to baby humans. I think I'd be the eccentric "Nana" that's only wheeled out for high days and holidays though so on reflection I can see her reasoning for choosing to remain childless. Grin

Ibake · 04/07/2020 19:38

In da pub!
It's all very normal and chilled, no silliness at all just people sat about enjoying a drink and chatting. The D's will be gutted!

Haha whoops Blush I guess I mean "smelled" then

SomewhereEast · 04/07/2020 19:41

Think I might die laughing at those eejits on the Scottish border. If anyone brings The Plague into Scotland I bet it'll be Scots nipping south in search of a pint.

KaronAVyrus · 04/07/2020 19:46

Can everyone stop posting photos from the pub? Im extremely jealous.

HesterShaw1 · 04/07/2020 19:47

@Willow2017, loving the phrase "fair weather wankers!

Puppies have a "smell" that fades as they get older. It's a smell like biscuit crumbs, go find a puppy and sniff them!
Cattermole · 04/07/2020 19:50

@HesterShaw1

Fuck! Just saw a medium sized rodent in the garden, which I think was a young rat. It walked under the shed...walked, didn't run.
@HesterShaw1 looking at the Rebel Alliance spreadsheet.... you're welcome to borrow Obelix the Tank? Payment to be made in tinned tuna, obvs. (Although given his past on the mean streets of Bodmin probably more likely to go for a kebab...)
Wishfulthinking1977 · 04/07/2020 19:50

Talking of babies I have my 6 month old grandson overnight tonight whilst dd1 and her dh go to the pub (horror!!) 🤣 he's just had a bath so he smells like Johnson baby shampoo and talc! I am inhaling him like a drug! Xx

Oh I missed that as finished work too late, what a bunch of tossers not even got the courage of their convictions to show their faces! Just feck off you idiots.

Bollss · 04/07/2020 20:00

Just catching up. Actually been to my mum's today. In her actual house. Glorious. Nobody died. Saw a very pissed man stumbling along on my way home Grin

I really, really hope the numbers keep going in the right direction.

PickAChew · 04/07/2020 20:01

Smelt is technically correct, @frugifan though I think it's becoming a little archaic as British and American English are used more interchangeably.

The taunt "you smelt it, you dealt it" wouldn't work as well with smelled :)

It's funny how thing evolve, though? I remember, while learning to use log tables, at school, our maths teacher showing us a slide rule calculator. It's an utterly baffling thing. As, I suspect, are log tables to most kids, now, I imagine, despite their beauty.

Meanwhile NS gives an interview to Alistair Campbell and says all this border politicising is 'a ridiculous way of approaching it'. Lets hope her fans take notice of her.

AgentCooper · 04/07/2020 20:14

I had 6 Music on earlier and Liz Kershaw was taking messages about going to the pub. She played Dancing in the Dark by Bruce Springsteen and reminisced about going to see him live in 2016. I saw him then too, in a sold out Hampden Park in the most gorgeous summer night, 2 pints in hand. I’m not ashamed to say I had a wee greet listening to that.

Here is the NHS back pain video I used, think it was quite helpful. there are others there too such as a yoga one.

Haha at the Border protesters Grin

BarkandCheese · 04/07/2020 20:19

It was so good seeing pubs and restaurants with their lights on and people in them today. The ghost town look is on its way out Smile.

Willow2017 · 04/07/2020 20:22

Thanks will look at it later.
