I have just bought a Bissell crosswave, and it is amazing. I feel so organised with lovely clean floors.

What have you bought that has made a real difference to your life?

Shamelessly materialistic

TENS machine. I popped a disc in my lumbar vertebrae and it's pressing on two nerves. I can function without heavy duty painkillers now.

What a great thread, love the sound of the Eufy, not something I've ever thought about buying. We are a hairy lot though, including pet hair and long human hair, would this be an issue?

Little things, I love the light switch in our cloakroom/under stairs cupboard. As the door opens it releases the switch and puts the light on...on of course off again. Can't believe how something so simple makes life so much easier!

Loving my new iPad Pro and loving OneNote to keep me organised, lists, links, photos at home and work. I've pages of holidays, goods for the house (might have to add a link to Eufy!), garden plans and planting, I've managed quotes with photos and written measurements on...oh and healthy recipes...have lost 10lbs (Hubble 1st 6lbs). Love having it set in the kitchen, with recipes to follow and stops me cooking something once and forgetting to make it again. Now I want to buy the 'pen'.

I too love my earphones, just regular Bluetooth but finding housework and working at home much easier and more focussed with them on.

Even our dog has had a treat, using these treat boxes...so easy (and very lazy of me!)

Bluetooth headphones
New Fridge/freezer
Running belt

OhioOhioOhio · 04/07/2020 13:59

A basket for shoes on the stairs.

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 04/07/2020 14:01

Will it do the whole downstairs for me or do I have to set it for one room at a time? I have small thresholds between rooms.

Mine isn't a Eufy but similar. They will do a whole floor and don't care about thresholds.

EarPhones · 05/07/2020 12:02

Tumble dryer
Magimix food processor
Fleece blanket
Study room with proper desk and chair
Le Crueset mugs
Under floor heating
YouTube premium subscription
GHD hair straighteners

Would like a robo lawnmower and vacuum cleaner but can't justify the price.

Kaxi · 05/07/2020 13:33

Cast iron and spun iron pans, I'm never going back to non stick teflon ones Grin

Big bottle of 6% food grade peroxide. Best tenner I ever spent.

In the 70s (anecdotal, I can't find proof online) I was bottle fed a type of formula that was eventually pulled from sale because it was causing yellow teeth. I had very yellow teeth even though I brushed them twice a day and later in life didn't smoke or drink red wine. Professional whitening only made my teeth a lighter yellow.

A scientist friend at a college I worked at told me to just use 6% peroxide as a mouthwash after brushing my teeth, a much lower percentage than in professional whitening. It took less than a month for the yellow to be gone. My gums protested a bit but that was temporary. I now have natural looking white teeth and just do the peroxide mouthwash very occasionally as maintenance.

(If anyone else tries this, it's just a small amount like a cap-full, lean forward so it's coating the front teeth, keep your tongue out of the way, and don't swallow the peroxide. And rinse well after.)

pinotgrigio · 05/07/2020 14:40

My Thermomix. Working full time and going to sports with DD pretty much 7 days a week it was a life saver.

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 05/07/2020 15:37

My Thermomix.

I had the Lakeland version of this - it stopped working about 8 weeks ago and I miss it so much because it's like having a mechanical sous chef. If Aldi ever repeat their 'Thermomix-a-like' in the UK then I'll buy one.

If this thread inspired you to buy an Eufy or any other gadget - how are you getting on with it?

Love it? Disappointed? Buying them for everyone you know?

QuestionableMouse · 31/07/2020 20:18

Cheap

Earplugs - I've been sleeping much better
Backscratcher - no more contorting myself to get at an itch

Expensive

My car - makes me happy, is a workhorse (seriously - it's had all sorts in and ife been all over in it)

Grandmi · 31/07/2020 20:27

Two Jack Russell doggies. One sadly died last year but she gave me 13 years of unconditional love 💕 The other one is my soulmate 🐶

CloudsCanLookLikeSheep · 31/07/2020 20:28

Therapy - about £3000 in all but I enjoy my life now rather than waiting for it to be over

Chameleon2003 · 31/07/2020 20:42

I bought a Eufy - brilliant. My mum got one too and loves it!

Good to see that this thread is helping households!

I have a different model which I like but I'm thinking about some older friends and relatives whom I'd like to influence to buy something like a Eufy to help them keep on top of their housework.

Is an Eufy easy to empty? (That's my biggest concern for a couple of people, they hardly ever remember to empty a normal vacuum cleaner so I wonder if an Eufy would stand no chance.)

Linemanfort · 01/08/2020 11:19

Mesh screens for the windows. No more buzzing/biting beasties flying around here. Cost £40 to do the whole place.

AdaColeman · 01/08/2020 11:40

An extra kettle to have upstairs, set up with tea & hot chocolate making kit, so I can have a hot drink in the early hours without trailing downstairs.

Juiceey · 01/08/2020 12:58

Chilly's bottle was worth every penny
MacBook Air - I just love it
AirPods - so good
Lockdown puppy - ordered pre-lockdown but he brings so much joy!

Chameleon2003 · 01/08/2020 14:17

@EmbarrassingAdmissions
Really easy to empty- just pull a small compartment out and tip into the kitchen bin. Slide back in again.
We have long hair in the house so I pull this out of the roller - again- really easy.
My mum is in her 80s so has helped her - although she does like to supervise it 😂

Thank you. That's exactly what I needed to know. Ours needs 2 strong thumbs to manage the catches (there's the dry tank and a separate water tank to exchange) and I doubt that our older friends could manage that so the Eufy sounds more convenient.

DontDoItGeorge · 01/08/2020 20:04

Chilly's Bottle, water is still icy cold after a 12 hour shift

Bose bluetooth speaker, I play spotify through it loudly and embarrass the kids with Osmans and Boomtown rats😂

Black and Decker Dustbuster, simple hand held vacuum that I use all the time, cat hairs, crumbs, car seats....has great suction and saves getting the big vacuum out.

iloveroastpotatoes · 01/08/2020 23:10

Instant Pot Crisp: have used it everyday since I bought it several weeks ago, sometimes several times a day. From frozen chips and sausages to lamb stew, I love it!

Emma Mattress: bought a couple of years ago in the sale and brilliant for my bad back and hip.

Bean to cup Delonghi machine. Used everyday by all members of the house.

Electric bike: I can't walk far and the bike has enabled me to get out of the house for some fresh air and exercise.

10kg drum washing machine: fabulous.

Another vote for Mitchum roll on. It's the only deodorant that consistently works for me.

Sketchers Be Lux trainers. Very comfy for my fat feet Grin

Totally buying a Eufy after reading this thread Grin

TheCanyon · 01/08/2020 23:13

A betterware window squeegee/microfiber thing. The microfiber is fucking awesome for cleaning the walls in seconds
