Caught a George Michael documentary on All 4 and just reminded me what an amazing singer and songwriter he really was.
I love Cowboys and Angels, the introduction is just perfection. What's your favourite?

Love George.Always will.

Was very fortunate to see him live on many occasions, including the last ‘Symphonica’ tour.
He had the most pitch perfect pop voice ever. Live was even better than recorded.

Wham favourite, ‘Everything She Wants’

Solo ‘Fast Love’ ‘Different Corner’ ‘Father Figure’ ‘Jesus To A Child’

Oh God so many.

Rest easy, beloved George. I hope you knew how much you were loved.

Those who like I Can't Make You Love Me - listen to the original recording by Bonnie Raitt if you haven't before. Truly beautiful.

Where did your heart go - but all of them really - I loved him from when I was a tweenager Sad

One More Try or Father Figure

His cover of I Can’t Make You Love Me is also utterly sublime

Folicky · 27/06/2020 22:34

Fast Love ..... no question.

Starksforthewin · 27/06/2020 22:34

PS Anyone remember that backstage video when he was rehearsing for, I think, the Freddie Mercury tribute concert?
Might have been Live Aid so apologies if I have that wrong.

Anyway, the point is, so many of the other artists gathered in awe to listen to George rehearse. I remember how impressed David Bowie was, and he was not easy to impress! 😀

Hailtomyteeth · 27/06/2020 22:36

Father Figure.

Mintjulia · 27/06/2020 22:37

I can’t make you love me.

One of the few songs to bring me to tears.

abstractzebra · 27/06/2020 22:37

One more try - it's got such emotion. It really makes me quite upset Sad

I knew you were waiting is my favourite sing along in the car song. Obviously, I sing both parts with my excellent vocal skills Confused

I was devastated when he died. Too young and under appreciated.

Starksforthewin · 27/06/2020 22:41

Found it. Bowie is from about 3.20 in.

ladybirdsarelovely33 · 27/06/2020 22:41

Oh this thread reminds me how much miss him - like I am sure we all do here.

A Different Corner
Fastlove

Louisesp82 · 27/06/2020 22:41

between fast love, careless whisper and Amazing

Starksforthewin · 27/06/2020 22:43

Miss him so much, and was so upset about the way he died.

Nice to be among so many fans.

twinkletoesimnot · 27/06/2020 22:48

Loved him so much, for all of my life. My dad tells me I was 2 when I would just stop and listen to him.

So many beautiful songs sung with such a wonderful voice. Very sadly missed. My children all know his songs. Too hard to pick a favourite, but if I had to I think it would be 'I can't make you love me. '

Honeyroar · 27/06/2020 22:55

Can’t make you love me - and his version is a million times better than the original.

ILoveYou3000 · 27/06/2020 22:55

@Starksforthewin that video is fantastic. He never misses a note. His voice is truly amazing and he looks like he truly loved performing.

I'm proud to say my kids are well educated in George and my eldest chose to put most of his greatest hits onto her own playlist. I felt that day I'd succeeded in her musical education.

Santasballsack · 27/06/2020 22:57
@Santasballsack I believe it was These are the days of our lives
It was! Thank you! Beautiful song.

Freedom!

tothesea · 27/06/2020 23:03

Careless Whisper always catches me unawares..that sax! So evocative of the time and so sad now George is gone. But my favourite is Different Corner. My son calls it The Magical Thing song. Let Her Down Easy a close second. RIP beautiful George.

AnyFucker · 27/06/2020 23:10

George Michael, sadly missed

My favourite songs are:
*You have been loved
*Jesus to a child
*This is not real love (duet with Mutya Buena, massively under rated)
*Praying for time

babypossum · 27/06/2020 23:11

Spinning the Wheel

BrandyandBabycham · 27/06/2020 23:26

Impossible to choose but what a talent! Definitely another vote for “ Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me” with Elton John. Fantastic!

heymammy · 27/06/2020 23:36

Waiting for that day...no hesitation, it's beautiful.

Starksforthewin · 27/06/2020 23:37

Isn’t it ? ILoveYou3000

Never misses a note. Brian May said afterwards that George’s performance was his favourite of that concert.

(also, how did I get it mixed up with Live Aid in my original post..? Doh! )

You win at parenting! Well done on giving your children the gift of George! 👍🏻

Whataracket · 27/06/2020 23:52

I love too many of his songs to just choose one.
I love the way he anonymously helped people out and gave to charity.
Sadly missed.
