What chocolate still actually tastes nice?

I stopped buying chocolate at some point in the last 10 years because most of them - especially Cadbury, taste completely different and are waxy and horrible.

there are some very expensive things that still taste like proper chocolate, such as the fortnum and mason ones (sadly out of my price range to buy more than one bar a year!) but out of the normal ones you'd find in a supermarket- which ones are still nice and do you still buy?

Lindt chili is my favourite. The chili kick is very mild but the chocolate itself is amazing.

DianaT1969 · 22/06/2020 20:41

Dark Lindt mint.

Hormonecrazyhell · 22/06/2020 20:46

Milka or Aldi.

OldLace · 22/06/2020 20:49

Aldi 85% dark chocolate is good (as is much of their other chocolate)

I was disappointed in Hotel Chocolate's offerings

Green & Blacks is okay.

SillyBub · 22/06/2020 20:49

Tony's.

I can take or leave chocolate these days or so I thought until I had a bar of Tony's for Mother's Day.

Ferrero Roche , after eights, chocolate orange, snickers. Jar of Nutella.

I'm yet to find a decent bar!

GreyGardens88 · 22/06/2020 20:53

This thread is surprising MN's usually like to look down their noses at Lindt

Sexnotgender · 22/06/2020 20:53

Another Tony’s Chocolonely fan here. Love the seasalt caramel one.

goose1964 · 22/06/2020 20:53

Tesco own brand,no palm oil when I last had it ,plus either Aldi or Lidl's country specific. I recommend the Peru one.

Batqueen · 22/06/2020 20:55

Yep Tony’s Chocolonely ftw!

ButDoUAvocado · 22/06/2020 20:55

Love Tony’s but not a great fan of the salted caramel one though.

Waitrose own is nice and I can’t resist a Fry’s Mint Cream, tastes like After Eights used to.

magicstar1 · 22/06/2020 20:55

Aldi Moser Roth. It’s gorgeous, and there are so many varieties.

ButDoUAvocado · 22/06/2020 20:56

Oh thought of another one! The Cadbury grandson’s business. What’s it called??!!
The chocolate is so good.
I’ll look it up.

ButDoUAvocado · 22/06/2020 20:57

Love Cocoa

Browzingss · 22/06/2020 20:58

M&S own brand offerings

DKanin · 22/06/2020 20:59

Out of the expensive ones Godiva is my favourite.

I'll look out for the Aldi one pps said tastes like original Dairy Milk.

Does anyone know - is it the palm oil that's changed the taste?

I didn’t like Tony’s salted caramel.
Love toblerone.
Ritter is nice.

AriettyHomily · 22/06/2020 21:00

Tony's convert here

Spied · 22/06/2020 21:01

M&S Swiss

MadauntofA · 22/06/2020 21:02

Tony's dark choc and almond here. Also Aldi's

serenada · 22/06/2020 21:03

where are you all getting milka from in the UK?

GracieLane · 22/06/2020 21:05

I like Lidl's dark chocolate with raspberry
Toblerone or Aero for milk chocolate (I like the peppermint and orange Aero anyway)
I like Bourneville best from Cadbury's
Green and Blacks 85% and 70% dark, milk chocolate with butterscotch and white chocolate.
After eights
