What chocolate still actually tastes nice?

I stopped buying chocolate at some point in the last 10 years because most of them - especially Cadbury, taste completely different and are waxy and horrible.

there are some very expensive things that still taste like proper chocolate, such as the fortnum and mason ones (sadly out of my price range to buy more than one bar a year!) but out of the normal ones you'd find in a supermarket- which ones are still nice and do you still buy?

God no - hate them. I mean proper chocolate flavoured with lime in the shape of a lime in the same vein as a chocolate orange.

Email them and suggest it.

I emailed a beer company here with a suggestion once. They said no, but they sent me a free six-pack.

Chocolate of Glenshiel are amazing, a bit pricey but amazing. If you want a treat, they are still running online. The coffee chocolate bar is the most amazing thing I’ve tasted in years!

Went to Lidl the other day and they had orange flavoured Vegan chocolate by Galaxy - it was quite nice!

M&S swiss mountain bar is a knock off toblerone and sooo much nicer.

@ladybirdsarelovely33 Waitrose, As Nature Intended and some coffee shops sell it

CloudsCanLookLikeSheep · 23/06/2020 11:47

I only buy the posh stuff now. Booja Booja is my fave.

Doesn’t anyone else find Tony’s a bit hard? It’s difficult to bite into.

DKanin · 23/06/2020 13:30

@BadLad how recently did you have a milkybar? I bought one at a motorway services a few months ago as I was feeling ropey and needed a pick me up but I didn't think it tasted the same as it used to. Could have been my tastebuds as I think I had a bug coming on!

Divine or Waitrose 1.

What I really long for is Cadbury's Fruit and Nut circa 1994. One of the 200g bars, all to myself.

I buy posher chocolate than I used to.

Cadbury’s used to be very cheap and Lindt or other better bars very expensive.

Now, per 100g, and one of the ranges like G&B or Lindt etc is usually on offer, there is barely any price difference.

So I avoid nasty Cadbury’s now.

BadLad · 23/06/2020 23:43

The last ones I had were in January, @DKanin

They may have changed over the decades - I can't tell - but they were still delicious.

Can't get them here, or I'd buy them more often.

TheSherbetTurbot · 24/06/2020 15:32

Godiva used to be nice, but I had some recently and it was vile.

Valhronna if you can get hold of it. Pricey but incredible.
