Dp had an ingrown hair 3 weeks ago that has suddenly decided to go bananas. I’ve forced him to call his GP and waiting a call back, but wondering if any MNers could shed some light in the meantime!

I'm glad he's on the mend.

SpiderPlant1 · 24/06/2020 15:55

Oh that looks so much better. Can he now put his leg to the floor as it looks like he had it up in the first two pics. I had the most horrific bite from a horsefly once and I couldn't put my leg to the floor. I've still got the scar :(

Glad you’ve not forgotten the Sporners. Grin

Does Magnesium Sulphate paste work on infected bites/ingrowing hairs? I know it works on boils but not sure if it'd be safe on an open wound.

OchonAgusOchonO · 24/06/2020 18:06

@SpiderPlant1 - I don't think you're meant to use it on an open wound but an infected insect bite/ingrown hair isn't an open wound.

I would say it would work but I've never tried it on those. I had a nail biter who often ended up with an infected finger. It was great for that.

SpiderPlant1 · 24/06/2020 19:14

@OchonAgusOchonO Yes I think you are right about using it on an open wound as the leg one is now open. I'd hope that the antibiotics would also work on the new shoulder one but if the shoulder one hasn't come to a head yet then the magnesium paste might help. Lets wait and see the next development. Whatever happens - SO painful - I can feel the pain!!

OchonAgusOchonO · 24/06/2020 20:22

@SpiderPlant1 - it won't do anything for the shoulder one unless it's infected.

The one thing missing from this thread is anybody suggesting he talks to a GP for some antibiotics....

You didn't actually bother to read the thread then…😆
SpiderPlant1 · 25/06/2020 21:22

@hopingtobedally Oh brilliant - you really think after 310 posts that no one suggested this. The OP has actually posted that he has antibiotics.
A classic case of RTFT.

hopingtobedally · 25/06/2020 21:30

Dear dear and you need to read the tone 🙄🤤

hopingtobedally · 25/06/2020 21:30

That should be 🤦‍♀️not 🤤he he he
