Dp had an ingrown hair 3 weeks ago that has suddenly decided to go bananas. I’ve forced him to call his GP and waiting a call back, but wondering if any MNers could shed some light in the meantime!

I've not read the full thread OP but I'm a nurse and he needs seeing ASAP for antibiotics at least. It could develop into a serious leg ulcer if not treated quickly. Is dh diabetic by any chance?

The Antibiotics will take a day or two to have an impact.

Has he cleaned it with hot salty water and then put gauze over the hole?
Try to do that every couple of hours

NO squeezing or prodding
let the salt and the antibiotics do their job

Placemarking.

Once he's finished fluclox I'd invest in a weeks worth of probiotics. It doesn't half mess with your stomach.

I would recommend following the sage advice of other people - keep it clean, leave it alone, etc, rather than following my instinct to dig around with tweezers to see if I could get it to explode.

The solution is very simple. Gently go over the entire area, but with a period of time (a couple of minutes should do it) concentrated on the hole, with a blowtorch.
