Checking in

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/06/2020 18:34

Thanks dowser. Need to have a trip out then. Might make use of my keyworker space and leave DS in school for the day.Grin

dkl55 · 18/06/2020 18:44

Checking in! Devastated about no beer gardens in Scotland. Fecking Nicola. Is she genuinely terrified I'm starting to wonder?

torydeathdrug · 18/06/2020 18:47

I'm desperate to leave the children with someone for the day & go somewhere with dh. But no one can have the kids (obviously) even if they could, ds1 is Very Difficult. dh has had two days emergency leave & there's no more ... work is too precarious to push his luck, there's nowhere to go & even if there was - we are skint!

Dear god it's so miserable.

SpnBaby1967 · 18/06/2020 18:48

I'm finding I just have no patience for anyone or anything right now.

My job means I deal with idiots daily, usually I'm able to be super professional & brush it all off & do my job. But lately I'm finding I cant get going, and then when I do I dont have the patience to deal with the stupid stuff & I dont have the emotional resilience to deal with the awful stuff.

Hoping to get back to karate soon, I need it for my mental health.

I want to go shopping, spend some frivolous money but I hate queuing.

PickAChew · 18/06/2020 19:01

@torydeathdrug 🍷my teens both have asd and we've been through some hellish times with both of them. Thanks to covid, DS1 has crashed out of school with no post 16 placement. He'd already been school refusing, anyhow. We can't see him ever getting back on the horse. He's not left the sofa house for 3 months, now.

Sadly, I omitted to bleach either my aubergine or courgettes, so this lovely curry will be certain sadly death for us.

We don’t have many newts in our Borough but we are the bat capital of the county. Loads of mature trees and green spaces interspersed with houses with big eaves.

That's me right now.

I just cannot believe we are still here.
I'm about to watch the daily sadly death show on catchup. Dont know why though.

Wonder what the ONS infection stats will show tomorrow. It decreased from 140k to 53k in I think 3 weeks.....

I suspect a lot of the speculation around moving forward (such as 2m to 1m) will depend on that figure.

Anyone fancy a sweepstake? 😁😂

Librarybooksandacoconut · 18/06/2020 19:09

I’m in Scotland, and apart from the whole school fiasco, today I’m mostly pissed off with the no indoor shopping centres. Pretty much every high street town in my local city is in the shopping centre, and I desperately want to go to Waterstones and H&M. Do I risk the 20 mile drive (and the swathes of dead grannies I will leave in my wake) to the next nearest town with outdoor shops?

Drivingdownthe101 · 18/06/2020 19:10

Well the Zoe figures have gone from an estimated 4900 new infections a day to 3600 this week so hopefully the ONS ones will drop similarly!

torydeathdrug · 18/06/2020 19:13

PickAChew it sounds like you're a couple of years ahead of us, it's so hard - I haven't felt this bad since ds was diagnosed at 3.

Ironically he's perfectly happy too - he would literally never leave his bedroom or speak again given the chance. He found a yo-yo yesterday & is scary good ... he could be an autistic savant after all, just a shame he didn't pick something more marketable than yo-yoing!

Curry look good Smile I had a Ritter sport straight out of the packet ... dicing with death.

Teateaandmoretea · 18/06/2020 19:15

Exciting news is that we have questionnaire from swim club about restarting. Decided it was maybe a bit rude to immediately reply with ‘can dd2 join too’ 😂

torydeathdrug · 18/06/2020 19:16

@Drivingdownthe101 they did (ONS) - I'll try and post the proper numbers but it was very similar to Zoe ... the dementors are dementing because the rate of reduction has slowed this week.

Ah I’ve not seen them!

BakewellTarts · 18/06/2020 19:20

@PickAChew that curry looks great...I'm not bleaching my food either. We had stawberries, meringue and cream for pudding I don't thinnk bleach would have improved it.

NannyPhlegm · 18/06/2020 19:20

The Welsh Government have just tweeted this....
..
Thanks to your actions, cases of coronavirus in Wales continue to fall.

This is giving us room to carefully ease more restrictions.

Tomorrow we’ll provide an update, including reopening non-essential retail and more outdoor activities.

Join us live at 12:30pm tomorrow 📽️ t.co/KpyXN1857X

ExpletiveDelighted · 18/06/2020 19:20

Tea our swimming club are going flat out with restart plans too. There's an awful lot for the committee to do though.

dkl55 · 18/06/2020 19:21

@library in a word, yes

HesterShaw1 · 18/06/2020 19:26

Oh dear :( Just had a bit of an "exchange" with an old, dear friend via Messenger. She's in Wales and thinks that Drakeford has no choice other than treating the population like children because it's just 5% spoiling it for everyone else. I'd usually think she was well informed and clever.

This makes me sad. Someone else was saying they felt sad and lonely because of a chasm developing between them and good friends. Hopefully we can go back to how we were because I love her dearly.

HesterShaw1 · 18/06/2020 19:27

I just need to get back to badminton and smash the shit out of some shuttlecocks!

Teateaandmoretea · 18/06/2020 19:31

There's an awful lot for the committee to do though.

DH has volunteered to be a ‘covid coordinator’ we’ve had a bit of giggle about what that might entail.

PickAChew · 18/06/2020 19:31

Ritter sport is dicing with 🤮for me. Bloody menopause.

InsaneInTheViralMembrane · 18/06/2020 19:45

hester I thought you’d already had your full of cock for today. ahem

Mrsfrumble · 18/06/2020 19:51

I did start rinsing our fruit at the start (which I don’t usually bother with) but then forgot. We’ve been dicing with death for the past 9 weeks or so.

RubberDinghyRapids · 18/06/2020 20:02

Checking in.
I'm assuming nothing wild was said in today's briefing (Eng)?

I saw TWO patients today IN THEIR HOMES Grin Sat at a distance and in a mask, but it was fucking brilliant. I would have seen a third but the rain put paid to our planned appointment in the park.
